Just don’t make any sense. Very rude on the phone, too
Why do they not take orders on the phone ahead of the time???
I liked calling in ahead of the time before lunch so that the food is ready as soon as I get there and so that I do not waste my lunch time. Today, my coworkers wanted to take me there to celebrate my birthday during lunch. They called in our orders but were rudely declined by the restaurant.
Somebody on the other side of the phone told us that they do not take orders ahead of the time because many customers have been complaining about food being cold or drinks being wrong. So, they stopped taking orders on the phone.
…???... Really….???
I guess no more Applebee’s for lunch, then… That’s fine.
But, let’s turn this around and think about this for a moment.
As a business, do they not want more customers?
Before stopping taking orders on the phone and declining customers, should they not start thinking why people are complaining in the first place?
Food being cold: Get the timing right!
Drink being wrong: Double check the orders and bring the right thing!
AND
Be nice to customers!
I thought those things are basics of restaurant business.
That was very unpleasant experience. I feel very sorry for my coworker who called them and was treated very rudely. They do not deserve our business. No thanks!
