We ate here on 11-19-2013. It was TERRIBLE! We had the Greek salad which was huge but poor. Then ordered Linguine Alfredo, because we were told the sauce was home made. It was terrible. It tasted like milk with Parmesan cheese and water poured together. It was very watery. We also order the Linguine with clams. Again terrible. My husband will eat anything and he picked the clams out of the pasta which tasted like garlic and lemon juice squeezed on top. The service was great. The place was clean, but the food uneatable.
It s kind of a small place, but the food is excellent. Both of my visits were a year apart. I had a calzone the first time and it was a cheesy, pepperoni-filled heaven. The pizza is fantastic; the crust is thin but still soft and the herbs don t overpower the rest of the pizza. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Definitely a place to go if you re in the area!
Just got back from Bella Cucina and the experience was really awesome. Would recommend it highly. We had a party of five and service was great - had a drink at the bar first and then sat in the dining room... Had a blond waitress named Bri and she knew the menu inside and out. After reading some previous reviews we were a bit skeptical about going - just goes to show you that you have to experience it for yourself. The wine, pasta dishes, salads, warm bread were all tasty and a great value. I personally had the pizza and was shocked at how good it tasted. Being at the beach, I did not expect good New York style pizza. So, there you have it. This place was busy tonight - but they were on top of their game for sure. Enjoy!
Highly recommend Bella Cucina in Southport, NC
We first came to Bella Cucina when staying at the Hampton Inn Next Door during a visit last fall. What a surprise to walk into an elegant east Coast Style restuarant! It also has a deli on the side to get take out NY Style Pizza and subs.
We now come to Bella Cucina once a week. My husband loves sitting at the big beautiful bar and watch sporting events. But there is a main dining room as well as tables for big parties in the lounge. As a family owned restaurant,it has that personal touch as Family member is always there to greet you and make you feel welcome.
All entrees come with warm bread to dip in olive oil w/garlic and a delicious salad. Sometimes, I have the smaller portion pasta option which is a great touch on a menu( especially with the beach season upon us!) There is that special tuscan touch to all the food..my husband's favorite is the bolognese w/ sausage and homemade meatballs. They have a great wine selection and always make our special coffee drinks to top off our dining experience.
Casual elegance, great food, good service and reasonable prices. Coupons available on line have saved us a lot of money as they include a half price 2nd entree w/ 2 drinks.
I recommend Bella Cucina as a good choice when deciding where to go in Southport, NC( also on the way to Oak Island and don't have to go downtown SP)
Saw that they are serving breakfast..maybe try their brunch in the future.
Food is good and priced pretty reasonably. But the (complete) lack of service and total disregard by the staff far outweigh any positives. I have never in my 57 years seen anyplace quite like it. The staff spent nearly the entire lenght of our visit smoking on the porch and greeting friends, but don't take my word for it. Go disappoint yourself !
