Billy Whiskers', Columbia

What people forget about Columbia is, IT IS NOT DISNEYLAND! The owners of Billy Whisker s have more history in town than the arrogant fly in people from the city. Anyone who has the honor of having a meal served by Karen and Rick will attest to the experience of a true feel of Columbia. If you want a fantastic breakfast and real people, then eat here. If you want to be treated like you are better, than fly into Tahoe.

I just saw a review from July 19 2009 and need to report that it is totally inaccurate. I am a local who eats frequently at Billy's, and happened to be there on the day in question. When the group in question arrived the cafe was full. They were told there would be about a 45 min. wait. They wanted to sit outside, but the co-owner was the only waitress and couldn't serve outside as well. The group got angry and left. I don't know what they wanted her to do. Maybe throw the rest of us out ??? Nothing was said about their military status by anyone but them. These folks work very hard trying to make a living, and do not deserve the harsh words of these people.

Having been to Columbia in the past. I got some of my friends and parents to fly 5 airplanes into Columbia to get breakfast and check out the town. Thirteen in all, and all Irag pilot veterans who have fought for the freedoms of our country. We walked in and saw only one table occupied. The lady said sorry we do not take groups. We said no problem we will split up into differnent tables. She proceeded to say, I am the owner and you are not welcome here we do not take groups. We found this amazing in an economy like this and the town is drying up and she does not want to make at least $400 we would have dropped in there. We all fight for the freedom of this country and she treats people rudely. We felt discriminated against. The reason I am writing this reveiw is I strongly beleive no one should go to this establishment. Very unproffesional and has no right to be a business owner. I actually hope she goes broke! CHeers
