Mehran Restaurant, Santa Clara

Food tastes good. Portions are small, some of the food that were like stew had bones in them(I don't recall what we ordered as we tried a few different things) I almost broke my tooth as I bit into it. The cook looks a little strange with the muslim outfit and beard.

Zafran has nice set up, good food, friendly staff and priced right......difficult to find all of them at one place when it comes to desi resturants! I highly recommend it.

We had chicken tikka masala and aloo palak, both were just okay. We didn't even save the left overs. Probably won't go back.

I loved it :) My Boyfriend is Punjabi so i getto try so many different types of Indian food. Thus far my favorite has been the mix/cross between Pakistani and Indian food. I think this place was pretty darn good, there samosas were amazing, as was the daal. One of my fav. places in northern cali is Naan n Curry, and well this place came pretty close...plus it beats driving up to frisco or berkley :D

The ambience-quality-value balance is excellent at Zafran

Zafran, food quality is mostly good, but can be inconsistent. The nihari is quite oily actually, and chicken tikka is quite spicy, but it's a good deal, I'd go again.

Visited this for the first time - and was disappointed. Food was *extremely* oily. The only saving grace was that the naan was great. The price is high as well - so net - will not repeat.

I along with my co-works were in Santa Clara for SD West Conference. We happened to find Zafran accidently. During our 5 days stay in Santa Clara, we eat 3 times at this superb resturants. What I like most about was the nice and clean atmosphere that most Desi resturants lack. The quality and the price was very reason able. My co-workers liked the mango lassi along with chicken tikka. Congratulations to the management and workers!

We have eaten at Zafran twice. We don't easily go back to restaurants unless the food is really good. We have found the food to be excellent at both occasions. The veg and non-veg biryanis are delicious and both veg and non-veg dishes are flavorful. The ambience is good, the restaurant appears very clean. And customer service is professoinal.

Today I went for dinner with my wife and a friend. We ordered bhuna ghosht, dahl masala, chicken tika leg, lamb sekh kabab, chicken shekh kabab and naans. Bhuna ghost was cold and we could hardly see any meat in it but full of ginger. Dahl masala was cold now its making me sick. When my friend tried to eat chicken leg kabab we saw blood coming out of it which made us all sick. I had to return it the guy who was cooking. Owner came out and said if we want that leg to be cooked again. Oh the kabab of beef and lamb were worse. I havent seen or heard ground meat to be baked before put it on skewer and then in clay owen. That meat was first pre cooked in a microwave or something and then it was put in tandoor. Prices were high... we paid 35 dollars for this junky food. This was my first and last time going there. I will rather go to Shalimar in Sunnyvale. Dont go there you will hate Pakistani food if you are trying it the first time.
