Papa Nachos Cantina, San Antonio

We ate at Papa Nachos a couple weeks ago and it was the best Mexican food place that we have found so far in San Antonio. The salsas were delicious and unique. Our meals were very good and seasoned to perfection. The service and friendliness of the staff were a plus.

This place is Loco bad. Amigos, as your friend, please heed my advice. This culinary disaster is one of the worst examples of Mexican food in the city. It's like Taco Bell level fast food crap. I can't believe this place is still in business. Lets recap me and my grandmothers recent misadventure to this barf palace. We were seated after a long wait although the room was half empty. The waiter barely spoke English. He didn't speak Spanish either which would have helped. I don't know where they find staff. Maybe the cemetery wasn't hiring undertakers. I ordered a Tecate. The waiter came back and said they were out. How can a restaurant run out of the most popular beer in Texas. So, I had a glass of whiskey which tasted like it came from a bucket of puke. My grandma ordered the tacos. I ordered the tamales. Both dishes were cold and I swear looked like they were a re-heated TV dinner. No joke! The worst part of the dinner is when I went to the bathroom. No,I didn't stink up the place, but the bathroom was filthy and that some server tried to sell me a pinata in the restroom! Bizarre! I guess the waiters are so poorly paid that they sell merchandise in the bathroom. I will never go back. My grandma said she would rather eat her dead cat then eat this caca puke.

I had the best enchiladas ever here. They were the Jalapeno cheese chicken enchiladas. The chicken was seasoned beautifully!

Not impressed at all. House margarita for darn near 6 dollars and a Chimichanga that was pure beans and barely any beef. Not worth the 15 dollar bill.

Love this restaurant and recommend to everyone I know. Friendly wait staff and excellent food. If you haven't tried it, come check it out for yourself. Priced right and very comfortable environment. Enjoy!!! You won't be disappointed.

Stopped here coming home from Port Aransas, TX. Being 5 months preggers and craving Mexican food, I didn't think I had alot of choices. We ended up in Leon Springs around supper time and I DIDNT want to settle for Quiznos' (we have one in San angelo) Hoping Papa Nachos was just that, Nachos and more, we went in. To our pleasant surprise we had good service and our drinks never sayed empty!! My husband and I shared the Fajita Nachos and like everyone else said, the fajitas are loaded with flavor and very tender. For desert we went for the full order of Sopapillas. One word....WOW!!!! I don't think you are quite prepared for the gooey, delicious goodness of this thing. You get 8 sopapillas covered in powdered sugar, cinnamon, CARAMEL, yes CARAMEL and honey!! What a treat! Will definately go there if we are on our way in/out of town. Great little mom/pop eatery..CHECK IT OUT for yourself. Note: I like my salsa cold with chips. Papa Nachos' they serve warm. Just to let you know beforehand. :)

Visited twice from out of town and both times meals were excellent. Fresh ingredients and very good service

Excellent food and service at every visit. Number one choice in Leon Springs.
