ordered take out from this Orient Express and the sauce leaked all over my car. When I called them to tell them, they told me that I must be a bad driver. When I became angry over this, they said they were going to call my supervisor at my work because I had my work ID badge on. When I told my supervisor of the situation, she told me that she had the same problem on a large order that she ordered from them and told me that is the reason my company could not order take out from them anymore. When I showed her the bag with the sauce all in it and my ruined car seat, the manager said she still would not refund me because I was being rude. I told her I was not rude until she told me that the food spilling all over my car was my fault. I am not the only person who has ordered from here and had sauce leak all over their stuff. Please make sure you bring a towel to put down on your car seat and your floor board if you order from here, and make sure you are not wearing your work clothes. Don t bother complaining because they will call the police and try to file charges for harassment because they don t know the first thing about customer service or doing to others what they would have done to them.
I used to be a frequent customer of Orient Express, until I experienced how rude and hateful the owner is. The situation: Within the last few months, I have ordered the generals chicken dinner twice, and both times I wasn’t satisfied with it because the chicken was dry and gross. The first time I let it go, because I have gotten better from there before then. The second time, I decided to call and nicely tell them that I wasn’t satisfied with food, and the girl was rude about it, but went and told the owner and she told me that the owner said I could have a free meal the next time I ate there, and got my name and seemed to have written it down. I specifically asked her if I had to get this free meal within a certain time period, she said NO. So, about a month later I ordered dinner from there for my parents and I, and I mentioned my free meal, the girl said she couldn’t find anything wrote down about it, and she went and asked the owner about it and he said he hasn’t seen anything and said that they wouldn’t honor it. I am just frustrated with this, because the owner wouldn’t honor it. When I went in to pick up the food, I nicely mentioned to the girl at the counter that I didn’t understand why they wouldn’t honor the free meal when I was told they would. At this point I don’t care about the free meal, it’s about the principle of it. She went and got the owner and I nicely explained the situation and he stood there with this arms folded, slumped against the counter¸ and just said he wouldn’t do anything about it because they didn’t have anything wrote down. I told him she wrote it down and got my info, he then said it was my fault for not getting the girls name and tried to blame it on me. I asked if this is a matter of if he thinks I am lying, and he just shrugged his shoulders. I asked if this is how he wants to treat his customers, and he shrugged his shoulders and said he just won’t do anything. I can’t explain how disrespectful he was being to me, like he was implying I was lying about it. I then had just had it, and didn’t even want my order, so I asked for my money back, and the girl got ready to give my money back, and he shouted no! she’s not getting her money back, then told me that if I don’t like the food to not eat there. All of this happened while no other customers were in the store, right as I was leaving people started piling in the door, makes me wonder how he would’ve handled it if there were other customers in there. Usually, business owners go out of their way to treat their customers kindly for the sake of their business. I was just astonished with how poorly he treated me, and will never eat there again.
I love your food but I never can get the people to take the order what I want for condiments. It has been three times now that I ask for the hot mustard and nothing else. I always get a handful of duck sauce which I do not care for, and a bunch of soy sauce which I use my own. Then I get about 3 packages of the hot mustard that I request alot of. I always tip the driver and they comment on that because they usually do not get tips. If I don't tip anymore it is not the drivers fault, he or she can take it up with the person taking the order for not writing down my simple request.
Yum Yum Yummy!!! Always fresh & so hot even after driving across town with it that it will burn you :) My orders are always right...have never gotten home with wrong stuff! Owners are friendly & live local & work their own business. We LOVE Orient Express!!!

We drove 70 miles from our house to eat at this place after looking it up online. It was HANDSDOWN some of the best chinese food that Motley and I had ate in a LONG time. We ordered 2 orders of Gen. Chicken and a childs Sweet and Sour Chicken for our daughter we also ordered an order of CrabRangoon and 2 egg Rolls this came to $23.00 in each meal included an eggroll and one crabrangoon. The portions were big and we still had left overs for home. We will be eating there more then likely every time we hit up joplin.
AMAZING!! at 5:30 on a monday night i got my food less then 2 min after putting in my order. tast is very good. think of this place like a small town Panda Express (west coast chinese food chain) all in all if you are a batchler like me its the perfict place.
Maybe it is the best in Joplin, and the egg rolls and crab rangoon were both great. But, the beef and broccoli was tasteless, and the chicken lo mein was sweet. Never had sweet lo mein before -- no garlic to be seen anywhere. It was nice to find delivery that wasn't pizza, but still ended up ordering pizza for dinner because couldn't eat any more bland chinese. Nice portions, though and they were definitely generous with the meat. Probably won't order more from them on the next trip through town.
