Restaurants that serve bird portions are a joke, and this one is no exception. I guess as long as they continue to sucker the pseudo high-brows, they'll remain in business. I have to believe their profit margin on any given dish, which amounts to nothing more than a saucer of flavored crumbs, has to be at least twenty fold. What a farce!
Matter of factly, this place is amazing. While all of the offerings are delicious and the staff is INCREDIBLEY well informed about their selections, it is an experience all on it's own to put yourself in their hands and recommendations. I have gone several times and tried many ways of dining here. All of which were wonderful. They even made me like port when I thought I would never do so. The recommended pairings are perfection, the food is delicious, and when they have a pre-set multi-course meal, it could not be a better deal. This is even if you add on the bells and whistles of a pairing with each dish and the cheese plate. Prepare to be wowed. WOWED I SAY!!!
We used to love going here for business dinners. However the last time we went, we were rushed out while we were having dessert. They were busy & they needed the table for a reservation. We weren't happy that they treated us like that after being regulars (we were spending over $100 twice a month) & we haven't been back since.
We live about a mile from Nibblers and seem to make it at least once a month, so we are fans. There is an evident passion for food and flavors that stem from around the world. The owners are a wonderful couple that love to spend time with you (when its not too crazy) sharing their love for a huge variety of culinary delights. What makes Nibblers fantastic is the creativity that goes into the monthly menu. From paired wines to belly dancing and jazz singers, these guys like to pull out all the stops. Some nights are quite busy, but most during the week are quiet, warm, and delightful. There is no pretentiousness or all the hoity toity stuff you can run into in some places with this level of cuisine and the patrons are usually the returning neighborhood customers who are wondering how they got so lucky having a restaurant like this down the street.
Price: Hundred bucks for a couple with a bottle of wine, a few small plates, dessert, and of course the nibbler of the day.
Yummy food, everything we got was different and tasty. However, I suggest ordering two plates at a time. Service was on the slow side. Food takes about 10 minutes between each course/plate. The servings are very small and it was hard to get full on the servings. It is also expensive. It is kinda like trying to get full on appetizers. We paid $70 for two people, with no alcoholic beverages, and we did not get full. That being said, would I go again? Yes. But prepare to order alot. Again, the food was delicious and not like anything I have ever had. So, try it!
We have just moved to area from Orange Co and I must say that this was the best dining experience we have had so far. The wait staff was friendly and gave wonderful suggestions. The menu was so enticing that we wanted to try everything!
My only complaint with the eatery was that they could have dimmed the lighting and turned up the music. It was awfully bright and quite.
You must try the lobster dumplings and the figs.
