Boulevard Cafe, Daly City

Love the place.. I used to go here when it was just Lyons.. What a nice change. Now I just learned that I can do take-out. A friend of mine who also loves this place was injured. So I'm going to take our favorite -- California Burger-- to her home. Thank you, Boulavard!

casual and great: This place has some 'typical' diner food, but many of the items have a mediterranean (mostly Greek) flair, I would recommend the vegi mediterranean plate. Excellent cucumber yogurt and everything else! I consider this place a 'hidden gem' since it's so close to where I live. Another cool thing about it is the bar, check it out. I've always had great service there as well.

We really like this place. In fact we go there almost every weekend for breakfast. You need to get there early if you don't want to have to wait. The service is good most of the time and the people are friendly. They may want to consider home fries instead of hash browns as on option. But I would highly recomend this place to eat.

Great place with even better food. I went here about a year ago for a friends birthday and fell in love with the atmosphere, the waitstaff, and the food! I of course had the pasta, being italian and all, it was amazing! And for an italian to say that you know its good. My friends had a little bit of everything else, it tasted and looked amazing. Large portions as well! Oh and you must have the rib appetizer! It is so juicy and cooked to perfection!

Steadily waning quality and stale menu. I thought this place was awesome when they first opened up. Meals were good and staff was friendly. then as time went on the menu remain unchanged and the ad deliciouses as it once was. I feel they need to changed the menu and the chef needs to get his heart back into the food

The staff at Boulevard Cafe is friendly and prompt. Within minutes of being seated, you've a glass of water with a waitperson inquiring if you'd like a drink. The menu is varied enough that anyone I've brought finds something to their liking. I find myself ordering my favorites even though I'm tempted to try something new. The fish and chips is one of the best dishes, especially when dipped with the homemade tartar sauce! If you're on a diet, then you have to have some restraint when eating at the Boulevard Cafe as their portions are large. Parking is sometimes a problem at peak times. All in all, this is a restuarant to visit when you want good food at good prices with good service.

It is a wonderful place, great ambiance, location, and excellent food. Our first dinner was a year ago, in January 06. The back room is a good size, and everything was ready for us when we arrived. It was set up so people could easily walk around and get together. I recommend it highly and look forward to our next party in a few weeks. It's a nice experience and the food is first rate.

We came for a quick dinner after the movies yesterday and found it to be surprisingly better than we thought. The ribs appetizer was tender and tasty. The entire menu was pretty impressive for what we thought was going to be diner food. Looking around, we saw steaks, pastas and fish that were all nicely plated. We had the Blvd burger and the grilled chicken sandwich since we were craving quick eats. Both were good so we decided this place would be a place we would try again since it was so close to home.

Very clean and a wonderful atmosphere with great food.

I will say this - I absolutely adore the building. Love the retro look - it's what caught my eye to begin with. But you go there for a meal - my husband and I have been there on a couple of occasions. First time was for lunch on a Sunday, during what normally are brunch hours. The place was packed but we waited for a seat. We both ordered lunch as opposed to breakfast items. I had a chicken sandwich and my husband ordered pasta. They were both very good and the waitstaff was very friendly and efficient and kept our drinks filled. The second time was late at night and we'd gone with friends for dessert and coffee. It was FABULOUS and they still seated us even though they were going to be closing within a half an hour. The dessert was wonderful, a creme brulee and the other dessert was a brownie of sorts with ice cream. Both were unbelievably good and their coffee was really wonderful, it did not have the acidic bite from being overheated or being heated too long. It was a very pleasant experience and the waitstaff again, was very friendly. Prices are very reasonable and it's just a nice little place to go.
