This has to be one of the worst Starbucks I have been to. As Soledad is mostly a commuter town, it gets a lot of traffic, but is very slow and has very poor service. There seems to be multiple employees standing around while watching one employee make drinks for all the walk up and drive thru customers. Two days ago I sat in the drive thru line for over 15 minutes. With only 1 car ahead of me that ordered a tall black coffee and 2 people inside the store, I don't see why it should have taken that long with 4 employees standing near the cash registers. I have come here almost everyday at the same time for the same drink for several years. I have yet to see any of the friendly smiles and familiarity displayed by the other Starbucks in the area. I would think that with 4-5 employees there at times the service would be quicker. Nope. I frequent multiple Starbucks' during the day, but as most coffee lovers know, the morning coffee is the most important to start the day. I will also get something to eat occasionally and their supplies seem to be very limited and not fresh.
The coffee isnt good either. More than 1/2 the time my order is wrong or doesn't taste well. I order a Venti Vanilla Latte everyday. Just like that. Nothing complicated, no extra shots, no special milk, but just like it sounds. The milk is often burnt and has a horrible taste or I get some surprise drink like a Hazlenut Latte or Pumpkin Spice Latte or Toffee Nut Latte (none of these I like), but occasionally I will get some other combination that it ok, but still not what I ordered.
With the closing of the Gonzales Starbucks last year, this became my only option of having coffee while driving to work in Salinas unless I wanted to wait until I got there. I enjoy having my coffee while doing my 30 minute drive to work, but I after 5 years of horrible coffee and horrible service at a premium price, I have decided to forgo Starbucks in Soledad and encourage everyone else to also.
