The food is drab and has no flavor. Very dry. The atmosphere in the bar area is alright but the dining area is terrible. Too dark. Couldn't see my husband across the table. I do not recommend eating there. Although, if you had to, I would try the blooming onion. Much like the one at Outback but we don't have one of those in Tehachapi so you have to settle for City Slickers. Also, very expensive for the quality of food.
One of the best hamburgers for the price. My wife enjoyed her meal too. The selection of beer to choose from is great. Much more interesting than a visit to Denny's for about the same price. I'll take the Denny's for breakfast but I would prefer City Slickers for lunch.
This place will eventually sink.
The bar is the only thing that will delay the inevitable. maybe they should just granade the restuarant and expand the bar and just serve doritos and cheetoes and load up on the domestic beers. The locals won't know the difference.
The food is absolutely nothing to write home about, but the atmosphere is friendly. The decor is drab in the restaurant area. The bar area is inviting and very spacious. The service is wonderful! Without the service, the restaurant would most likely flop.
One of the nicest places we've been so far in Tehachapi. The fried pickles are awesome! Who would've thought? The rest of our meal was okay, not outstanding, but not bad. Great martinis, and a comfortable family setting. We'll definitely be back for the pickles!
