Wonderful experience last Thursday-
I have celiac disease and therefore must follow a gluten-free diet. I was unsure if I would be able to enjoy Shogun fully, as soy sauce is a no-no, and I didn't know how easy it would be to find out the ingredients of the other sauces they use.
To my delight, the manager went out of his way to learn what I needed, and be sure that I would have an delicious as well as safe meal. He asked me several questions so he could learn what was safe and what was not. Even the chef, who prepared my fried rice with teriaki because it has corn startch and would normally be safe, stopped me before I took a bite because he remembered that they mix their teriaki sauce with soy sauce. So, I did have to eat steamed rice instead of fried, but I was able to eat my veggies, steak, and shrimp Hibachi-style and still full of flavor.
Anyone following gluten-free diets can eat safely here, and it is DELICIOUS!!!
OMG!!!! Wonderful Sushi. The last great Sushi I had was in Manhattan last September. We wandered in to Shogun today and I had the most incredible spicy tuna rolls and crab/avocado rolls. Also, my other half, who is more into stir fry, had a fantastic teriyaki chicken dish with mushrooms that made her need a cigarette afterward. The lunch prices were great and the service was wonderful, even though we'd found Shogun right as their lunch hours were ending. If you love Sushi or teriyaki dishes, you can't beat Shogun's in Southlake.
