Very authentic and a friendly place! The silver noodles must be experienced; the noodles are made fresh at the restaurant and are great served with chicken or shrimp. Another authentic Chinese meal is their sizzling beef dish. It seems to get better each time we go back!
A great everyday Chinese Restuarant: The food is excellent. I only gave them a 4 because the menu is limited(ie you can't get steamed whole fish, peking duck or chow fun), but what they do, they do well. You can find better in Chinatowns around the country, but this is as good as it gets in Farmington Hills. The meals are a great value since they include soup and egg rolls. Then they pleasantly surprise you with the usual fortune cookie but add a hot donut-like dessert that really tops off dinner in a pleasing way. It has been my favorite chinese restuarant since discovering it in fall of 2005. Following graduation at Compuware, we brought 19 people here for a wonderful dinner. Another group of 8 men from church were well pleased. We celebrate most family birthdays with Tommy the owner. Aug 2009-Tommy out did himself with Lobster with ginger and green onion, seafood hotpot, beef chow fun, and steamed salmon for a birthday party of 16. Everyone went home happy. You will too! I love this place. Ok, I upped my rating to a 5. You CAN get any dish that is served in Chinatowns, you just have to ask. The menu is geared to the American palate. We no longer order off the menu, but ask Tommy what he has fresh or what he recommends. If I want something special like the above birthday menu, we call a day or two ahead so he can get the food. For example the lobster and chow fun(hor fun) rice noodles.
Where do I start? I moved from NY to Michigan 17 years ago and have never found a Chinese Restaurant I liked even a little bit. Thanks to the reviews for this restaurant I decided to give them a try.I am so happy I almost cried when I tasted Rainbows Cuisine as it is Authentic Cantonese and Szechuan and I honestly had given up on trying to find anything even close to what I had become accustomed to when I lived on The East Coast. The food is fresh and most important they do not skimp with their ingredients as many others do. I ordered Sesame Chicken and it was all white breast meat with no fat. The wonton soup was one of the best I have ever had anywhere. My husband order Kung Po and was very happy.Egg rolls were great and the portions for carry out dinner were enough for lunch the next day. This will be the only place I will ever go to for Chinese Cuisine,Thank you Rainbow Restaurant for an awesome meal !!!!!!!!!
Very impressed with their dishes. For everyday dining, this is the place to go. Generous portions and very high quality ingredients. I especially enjoy their chicken and beef dishes. Yes, you can get better quality, more upscale Chinese food somewhere else, but for General Chicken and Chicken with Broccoli dinner combo, this IS the place.
Every item i've had off the menu, i enjoying fully and thoroughly. Multifaceted taste and aroma as soon as you walk in and or carry out. I return often. At least two or three times a month if not more.
