Not bad restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/10
Interesting food from my experience. The place was not as clean as one would expect but it was not that dirty either. The food was different.

I eat lunch here frequently. The lunch special menu offers two choices from a list of two dozen dishes, plus salad and spring roll for $8. The food is always delicious and the service fast and friendly. The place is always busy, too--Salt Lakers love this restaurant.

Strongly recommended even for non Thai lovers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/20/09
Sawadee Thai staff are wonderful and attentive yet not intrusive to conversations. I love to dine here for a quick but refreshing and healthy lunch. It is always busy but service is fast. The staff will ensure that your meal is prepared for your specifications. I love curry but not spicy. My sister loves really spicy food. We can get both right here. The dining room is beautiful and clean. They usually have great lunch specials. Give them a try . . . you will enjoy the change of pace.

Thai dishes that have not been Americanized! Reasonably priced, large portions and great service.

Authentic, Superb Thai Food
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/08
What a find! The food was authentic and outstanding in taste, texture, and presentation. Degree of spicyness was individualized. Service was awesome! Servers were friendly, anticipated needs, and were quick to respond. This all during a time when the restaurant was filled to its capacity. I was there close to halloween, so several customers were dressed in unique costumes. It was an interesting experience eating great Thai food amid people with alien faces, axes protruding from heads, kings, queens, and Red Riding Hood accompanied by a wolf!

Food was good/great, service was friendly and attentive, and portions were HUGE. I was very impressed for the reasonable prices.

Excellent. My wife and I ate here a few days ago and the atmosphere and the cuisine are excellent. Had veggie springrolls (fresh) with peanut sauce and one of the sweeter thai curries with fried tofu. It was wonderful. I was disappointed with the thai iced coffee I ordered, but they noticed that I did not drink it so they offered to take it off the bill for me. Very nice. Entres are about $10 and apps are about $5. Great place to eat. Not a dump. Looks fancy but you don't have to pay fancy prices to eat well.

I love thai food and I love Sawsadee and it's sister Thai Siam down on state st. Actually last Friday was the first time I ate at Sawadee, both restaurants are about the same as far as the dishes. The atmosphere at Sawadee is a bit nicer and engaging. i recommend any of the curry dishes, Masaman is my favorite and the peanut dishes are yummers. Good vegi selection and wine list for those interested.
