Tommy Bartlett Water-Ski Show
\"Each 90-minute live show features a mix of extreme water-skiing, masterful boat maneuvers, comedy and thrilling stunt artists on stage and high in the sky.\" \"One of the longest-running live, outdoor entertainment shows of its kind in the world,\" performances run daily, rain or shine, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
Save your money and go for a swim. This show is pathetic. We were fortunate to see the Tommy Bartlett pre 2008...several times. It was beyond great. We laughed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The audience was enthusastic and the show was actually fun to watch. This show is so awful that you could feel the uncomfortable smattering of applause during the set. They try to cater to the pre-teens and teens....only. The problem is....even they think the show is completely lame.
My family...and many other people, left during the intermission. Sadly that's $80.00 we'll never see again. Lesson learned. If these folks don't revamp this show, they'll soon be looking at a vacant lot.
the show was a complete WASTE of time & MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE had been there several years ago & what a GREAT SHOW. How could a show go fromEXCELLENT to HORRIBLE in a few years. 20 minutes for water show & 60 minutes of fill in to take up the rest of the time.. Have seen better water shows on the Mississippi river for FREE Drove 400 miles to see a show that wasn't worth walking across the street to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Save your money & go to something else!!!!!!!!! Dissapointed from IOWA!!!!!!!!!! 7-27-10
We have been to the Tommy Bartlett shows before and had good shows. We went to a show last night and we were very disappointed. Did not like the skit shows at the beginning. There wasnt much of a ski show. We enjoyed the comedian and laser lights the most. Hope you change back to the way it used to be.
Don't know about other years but in 2010 this show was a horrible waste of money. The waterskiing, which only lasted about 20 minutes was average at best and was intermingled in a completely lame skit that would have been considered bad even if presented by middle schoolers. It was not cute, funny, or entertaining and took away from the short ski segment that wasn't very impressive to begin with. The second half was only second rate circus performers and comedians...better stuff down the road at the Circus Museum and a lot cheaper too. We had a group ranging in age from 8 - 73 and everyone thought this show was a big dissappointment and rip off.
I took my two children to the show, which was lots of fun by itself. They gave us a ride on a golf cart down to the show area, as I recently broke my toe and am wearing this embarrassing bulky boot. The kids working there were all so friendly and talented, I was very impressed--that level of service is hard to come by these days, whether small town or city.
On June 7, 2008, the Bartlett show closed when Lake Delton, the body of water where the show takes place, flooded after torrential rains. Two days later, Lake Delton breached the embankment of County Highway A, creating a new channel around Lake Delton Dam going toward the Wisconsin River. The breach drained the lake almost completely, in particular the area of the show's grandstand.
The show reopened on Thursday, June 12, but without its famous water skiers. They, like Lake Delton, will apparently be gone for the rest of the 2008 season
Why the drastic change to the pirate theme? I have seen the show almost every year since 1985 and have really enjoyed the "Hollywood" type theme that was used in the past. The pirate theme takes the class out of the show that it formerly had. We also noticed the space shuttle act has been taken out of the show also, what a loss that is.
I beg you to put the classy act back together and dump the pirates!!!
This show is the first waterski show I've been to that I paid for. I was expecting to be 'wowed' with things that only money can buy. I was wrong.
Everything they did boat/ski wise was nothing new, nothing spectacular. The $21 for a ticket just got me a real, permanent seat. They really are making a killing on this.
Go up north to see the Minocquabats. They're a free show that can do all the same stuff. And when you have people doing it for show and fun it's a better show altogether.
We went to the show with a group of 15 people we had kids and adults. The comedian was so bad he could hardley make the audience laugh. The popcorn and cotton candy tasted like it was a week old. I remember the show years ago and it was much better than it is now. The children got very bored and we ended up leaving the show early because they couldn't keep their attention. It was such a waste of money and time.
