What a Joke. Rib Mountain is a beginner level par 3 course that fails to challenge even the most novice golfers. The run down club house and 30 year old carts only add to the experience. Only the greens are watered and they are overrun with turf diesease and bugs. Don't forget the 500 yard walk to the down trodden driving range across the street. The one advantage is the cheap prices and a fairly decent view of the mountain in the background, but any serious golfer will look elsewhere. Could be used as a good training course for young children.
We were visiting Wausau, last summer and we decided to go to Rib Mountain Golf Course and play a quick nine.It is the most beautiful Golf course I have seen. The staff was so friendly, and there bar area was awesome, nice big windows. It was an all around really nice course.
Exc. type course playing to par 31, about 30 years ago it was a night time lite course.
Above avg. in shape, with some nice roll to the greens. Played on 5-14-05 a lot of winter kill, but should come back. Water comes into play on several holes a nice touuch for a shoet course with mainly par 3's.
