This experience was a wonderful traet for me and my son and I would recomend to everyone to go there on trips and school experiences, it was a safe and fun environment for kids and aduts alike. I recomded the RlexPlex facility!
This is a very well equipped facility with excllent staff. This is a great place to take the family as there are many child friendly activites. The entire facility appears to have been designed with family use in mind. The children's swimming programs are very good. There is a large field house with a 2nd floor running/walking track circling it. There are also ice rinks for skating and hocky. It is rare to find a facility with such a broad range of activities. I noticed someone complained about the power plant ~1 mi away. If you didn't see it you wouldn't know it was there.
rex plex is situated next to the worst polluting power plant in the nation. When our family went into the rex plex my three children were
weezing and coughing immediately.I inquired at the front desk to see if they have special filters installed to filter out the mercury and other hazardous pollutants from the power plant several yards away. The rex plex employee said they did not. I will not go back or near the pleasant prairie wi rex plex or lake andrea. The kenosha news published an article in june 07 regarding the hazards of living near or exercising near the power plant and that it was the worse polluter in the nation.
This is the best place I ever worked out in. yes there are kids there, but that is healthy. they need to see what you should be doing instead of looking for excuses not to exercise. If you leave them home then they become couch potatoes and fat. I do wish they would get more abdominal machines. I hate to wait when I am worked up. People sit at the machines and hog them.
