Historic Galloway House and Village, Fond du Lac

I liked seeing history, and imagining what it would have been like to live there. We had two guides, one was more animated and full of information than the other. I would have liked to have learned a little more of their history, and we didn't get to see 30 rooms as everything advertised. We would have like to have seen the attic and the basement. We counted 7 rooms on the second floor, and 6 on the main floor, which is only 13, so where were the 17 other rooms. Don't know if they were counting hallways and the main entry. Guess I would have like to have seen even more. I loved all the little houses around the main house, it reminded me of Old World Wisconsin. The grass was quite short when we were there (unlike the visitors in June). All in all a good experience and I will go back again.

when we stepped onto the grounds it was like we were in a field of grass up to our knees! The lawns were so unkempt, the weeds were so bad that we had to step over them to go up steps on some buildings. the inside of the buildings were just as bad, the dust, cobwebs , dead bugs, and very unpleasant . they had so many neat things to look at but the dirt distracted you from enjoying yourself. It would have been nicer if they had more people working in the buildings to give you the history of them. the people that were there were very nice and helpful. I would not recommend this village to anyone.
