I never want to leave!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/09
This is one of the most beautiful courses I have every played. Very well maintained and so quiet that even when I hit a bad shot it doesn't bother me because all I have to do is look around and it makes me smile again! The club house offers excellent food and everyone is always smiling!! We only had to visit once and we knew we had to buy a place so we could visit all the time. Only problem is that once we get there, we never want to leave!!

Wish I was there

I use to play weekly at HSBGC, and I have to say that it was and is the best golf course I have ever been at. It is probably one of the most professional golf courses in the Mid West. When you arrive there, there are vallet workers to take your car, and bag drop boys to take your bags and put them on a cart for you. You go down to the pro shop to check in, and everyone down there is happy to see you and greet you with so much hospitality you leave the pro shop feeling that your day is going to be great. You get on the course, and you are awe struck. The course i s flawless. The whole course is green, and cut perfectly. The holes are challenging, yet able to birdie or par every time. The grounds crew is always working to make sure your golfing experience is one you never forget. After the first nine holes there are two places to get food and drink on the way to the tenth. There is murphy's grill which has sandwiches, wraps, and just about everything you would ever want to drink. Otherwise if you want a burger or anything else, there is Sonny's Saloon where chef dave will make your food perfectly the first time. They also have just about anything and everything you would like to drink. One thing I forgot to mention is while you are playing, there are beverage cart girls comeing around to bring you any drinks and snack you would like. But now, to the back 9. The back nine is more challenging than the front nine, and im my personal opinion much prettier. Hole 12 is a super challenging par 5 and is my favorie hole. It's 2 tiered and big, but if you hit it in the wrong spot, it can be pretty near impossible to par. And then there is number 18, where after you it your tee shot, it has the best view of the cliffs on the whole course. Its par 5 with a dogleg right. Its not very challenging if you don't try to be a pro. Once you are finished with your round, the Bag boys are there to clean your clubs and put them on the bag drop for your convienience. While they do that, you go and check back in the pro shop wher the club pros talk to you about your game and offer any answers to questions you may have. You can then leave or go up and eat in either Sonny's Salloon or franke's Resturaunt where you can order anything your heart desires, once again cooked by Chef Dave. So, in conclusion, HSBGC is a one of a kind place to enjoy a round of golf. The only downside to golfing there is that it is a private golf course and to golf there you have to pay about 35000 dollars per season, but in my opinion, it would be well worth it. If I had to rank the course 1-10, ten being the highest, I would easily rank it a 10, if not higher. Everyone there is super friendly and the course is beautiful.
