The first time I played T.G. I thought it was a great challenge. The course gives you several different options. One being hit the big dog or pull the hybrid and lay up. I enjoy laying up especially with the small greens. Great challenge for any golfer. I had such a great time at this course playing the club pro and beating him to hold the T.G. title for a full year. I was the Champ! Thumbs up to the owners. Great course.
Turtle Greens is hands down the best golf course in Southern Wisconsin. You cannot beat the price and the pro shop management from top to bottom is second to none. It is a very family-friendly environment and one that I wish I could play on a daily basis.
The only thing I would change is the oversize kid who mows the fairways and greens. He drives around the course as if he was wearing a white tuxedo, with no regard for anyone but himself. I've recommended to the owners that he be let go, but my wish has yet to be granted.
Otherwise, Turtle Greens is my favorite course in Southern Wisconsin!
It's a fun and cheap 9 holes of golf and maybe the first man on this review list was playing out of the trees that surround the right hand side of the first fairways because he is probably a poor golfer. It's a good course for a beginner but the SMALL GREENS make it a challenge for anyone. Anybody can stick a green the size of Lake Michigan, but if you can stick a Turtle Greens' green, then you can stick it anywhere.
Not sure what course the User from Beloit was playing because Turtle Greens stands up against any course in Southern Wisconsin. I would like to see his scorecard and maybe that would explain his dissatisfaction with his day. Turtle Greens is a quaint and beautiful course that is rarely busy. The owner is a sweet German lady who is always friendly and helpful. Do yourself a favor and play this course.
A nice and simple little par 4 East of Beloit, Turtle Greens is probably the cheapest 9 holes to be found within 50 miles. The outer 4 fairways are nice and straight, and the inner 5 are more challenging. This is an excellent place for beginners to work on their game.
