A few years ago, a professional organization I belonged to had their monthly meeting there (to be unique). This group had a special time in the evening for adults to "play". We did----and had a blast! We sat on the floor and drew our personal favorite place in Wisconsin, we played with construction shovels moving dirt, we found our own homes using the GPS system long before it was used in autos. It was a memorable experience. I am now writing to tell you it's time to take my 6 year old grandson for his birthday, and he has no idea of what is in store for him. I KNOW he will enjoy it as much as I did!
We used to live in the Appleton area and were regulars at the 'old' museum. After hearing that it was renovated, we thought we would give it a visit. Well, the newer "improved" version was a VERY distant second to the old. Our son is now 8 and would have been able to play all day at the older museum, he was bored out of his mind within 30 minutes at the new one. The only exhibits he liked were the firetruck and the airplane and that is because his grandpa helped to build them both!! They got rid of a ton of exhibits, and replaced them with party rooms and 'baby' exhibits, tubs of water and ballpit balls that fall from the ceiling. We will never waste our time or money on this museum again, we will drive to Milwaukee or Chicago next time. Shame on you for forgetting your older fans......the ones who made you succeed in the first place!!!!!
We had three adults and two children attending. The cost is $6.50 per person and had to pay $32.50 so that the two kids could enjoy the museum.
Why are they charging adults at a Children's Museum when the adults don't use the exhibits. Also they have recently remodeled and things are improving but they still have a long way to go before they will be worth $32.50 for two children.
Are they encouraging people to send in children unescorted? Isn't it better that I had three adults to attend to two children or would they rather have one adult bring in a group of 10? That would be the best decision to get your money's worth.
Good work so far with the museum but it still only keeps the kids occupied for one to two hours.
This museum went through an overhaul in spring 2006 and it is better than ever. It includes a play diner, gas station, tree house, airplane, firetruck, dress up area, golf simulator, doll hospital, water room, science/art project area, magnetic crane and so much more.
My almost 3 year old had a blast, and so did her parents. :)
This place was great! Both my 2 1/2 year old and my 35 year old kids (husband) were like kids in a candy store! It is very colorful and there is so much to do. They have a little town were everything is kid sized - that was neat. They have activities that you can participate in that we really enjoyed. Kept us entertained for hours - which for the price was a great deal. Will definately return again.
