Summersville Lake, Summersville

Nothing. Our overall experience was heaven! The owners of Summersville Lake Resort were awesome, friendly, helpful and alot of fun. Visit in the summer so you can take advantage of boating, hiking and camping or stay in the Chalet as we did. Wonderful jet tubs, full kitchen's and no TV!

My husband and I are lake enthusiasts. We have been to many lakes around the US and we have to say this lake is by far the clearest, cleanest, and most refreshing body of water we have ever encountered. The town of Summersville has a hometown charm with just enough, but not too much shopping and restaurants. The best part is that the lake is not commercialized so when your on the water its nothing but beauty. I would advise camping or staying in a log cabin to get the true feel of a mountain vacation. We will be back every year- awesome!

I have camped at Summersville Lake all my life and it is one of the nicest and family friendly places you can go. The lake is clean and their are so many different things to do, swim at the beach, boating, scuba diving, fishing, and even white water rafting is close by for the more adventerous person. I camped at Mt. Lake with my Mom and Dad and siblings and I have to say that it had become run down in the last few years but the new owners have done a wonderful job of upgrading, adding a pool, new camp store and are working on a beach at the campground, it is just fabulous. If you are looking for a clean, well kept campground it is the place to stay. I know camp there with my family and we take 3 kids from the age of 14 to 5 and they have a blast and are always saying, I can't wait to go back to Summersville Lake.

One of the best things i liked about summersville lake was the great (trout)fishing, and it is also a awesome place to go swimming. Well worth my time and money. Loved it and going back for more real soon.

We have been going to Summersville Lake almost yearly since 1997. We find the lake to have easy access, lots of room to open the boat up and enough no wake zones to just cruise, relax and enjoy the quiet and the scenery. We have stayed in one of the hotels and also stayed in the cabins. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a boat of any kind, from pontoon to speed boat. We are appoximately 4 1/2 hours away.
