We love visiting Blennerhassett Island at sunset!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/07
We loved this state park! Visiting in the evening is great for families! The staff are very friendly and personable. They all work well together and the price is very reasonable. We visited on their first Island Frolic. For a sternwheeler ride, a guided wagon ride tour and a snack of a hot dog with everything(slaw too!), chips and a drink - all this for $12.00 per person. Bicycle rides for children were free for a limited time. The children loved it. Free for the adults this night too! We walked along the wagon ride road and viewed a couple of deer, saw some turkeys too, thoroughly enjoying our walk. Beautifully kept island. It was a lovely evening for our group and we plan to visit again soon!

worth seeing!

My brother and I went over one day on the ferry and had a great time. We didn't do a tour of the mansion but we went for a buggy ride through the park and were amazed how many deer were on the island. It was a beautiful day and worth every penny. When it was time to leave, the ferry was having some problems so we got to spend a little extra time on the island which we didn't mind at all. When my mom comes down from Northeast Ohio to visit this summer I am going to take her over and this time I plan on doing a tour of the mansion. I'm sure we will love it.

Blennerhassett Island

A great place to spend the day. Arrive and depart by sternwheel boat. The boat departs every 30 minutes.Theres a beautiful mansion on the island , that is chocked full of history of Aaron Burr . A very nice picnic area that allows the entire family to take a break.Surrounded by the Ohio River, the island is especially beautiful in the early fall days with a spectactular view of both Ohio and West Virginia.
