Description

In what was once the Geronimo Hotel guest-house, this cozy and comfy college-area cafe serves light fare at equally light prices. The cafe itself is quite serene, with white-trimmed dark green walls, mellow music and umbrella-covered patio tables out front. The menu starts the day with bagels, muffins and specialty coffees and then moves into soups, salads, sandwiches and quiches. The House Club is a satisfying specialty of turkey, bacon and cheese. Beverages include coffees, teas, juices and soft drinks.

About the owner, he basically ruins the place. It's in a great location and has so much potential, but he's a very negative person who drives away customers. Another note, I think the owner ripped me off this morning. I used a debit card to pay for a coffee and scone this morning. He told me the price, swiped my card, and crumpled up my receipt and threw it away without offering it to me at all. When I later checked my account balance, I saw that the amount charged was more than he had told me. I like to patronize local places, but not if I'm going to be insulted or cheated while I'm handing the owner money. Plus, the coffee often has grounds in it and today I bought a scone that was old and disgusting. Be careful here or, better yet, just go somewhere else.

I like the Sunday breakfast, I had a breakfast burrito & pancakes, the place was packed. The owner is an impertinent, rude weirdo who marches around in a bad mood all the time but ignore him if you can. It was pretty good & not too much $$$. Something about the ambiance is missing though & the rude staff is a bit off putting but if you are hungry, go just for that.
