I always loved the times and memories at camden park with my family and friends.
I lost most of my family recently, and went there to see if i could relax my mind missing them so much. I have to say i almost cried at the condition the park had gotten over the years, and was thinking how i would love to win the lottery and buy the place and restore and care for the park as it should be cared for! Good ole' CAMDEN PARK love you
i have been going to the park for 40 plus years and this weekend done it for me when you take your drink's in know you have to pay $21 bucks to rent a spot which is bull shi$ when you order your tickets you should be told that not when you get to the gate and look like an ass
Camden Park is what it is. A small park with some old rides. It can not be duplicated. I have been to Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, Kings Island, Cedar Point, Holiday World.....but, some of my fondest memories are of camden park as a child, as a parent, and now as a grandparent. Don't go expecting anything other than a nice friendly park with awesome pronto pups!!!!!
Our church kids went on Sept 7th 2009. I was so disappointed most of the rides were broken or closed down for LACK OF STAFF so an employee stated. It was much too expensive to pay full price and not have all of the rides open for your BIG HOLIDAY EVENT! WE will NEVER waste our money if you cannot provide what is promised maybe you should have planned better or just close.... Food was too HIGH. Even the rides that were open continued to shut down. So sad this day could have been much better. False advertisment on YOUR part !!!
I grew up in Huntington and now live in Louisville. I went to CP yesterday, while visiting relatives. The park was VERY clean. The employees were friendly and the Pronto Pups were great. It's cool to see a business open after 100+ years. The admission is about $5-$10 too high, but concession prices are low. A great place to spend an afternoon. Kids from 2-15 will enjoy it the most, but adults will like it too. I hope Camden Park is around for another 100 years!
We live w/in 20 minutes of the park and get season passes for Christmas every year (when they are around $50 each, rather than $100 each). My kids are 3, 8, and 10 and it is so much fun for them. We always have a good time watching the kids having fun. I do wish they would give their Big Dipper some care though, it looks like a disaster waiting to happen. The other rides are great.
While they may not have the biggest and best rides. The lines are very short and Kids can ride almost anything. Most of the folks who work there are very nice. The coasters are old and look to be falling apart. But the rest of the rides are clean and look in good shape. If you have small kids they will love it.
After reading the reviews of Camden Park on this site I almost cancelled our trip. I'm so glad we went. With 3 adults and 4 girls (11, 12, 12, 14) we had the best time. The place was clean.(Swan pond needs alittle work.) The staff was friendly as could be. Alot of them let us ride more than once without getting off if there wasn't a line.
Because it was a small park our girls got to ride thier favorites over and over. When leaving we asked the girls if they had fun one replied "this was the best day of my Life." Ok I personaly won't go that far. But for the price you get a perfect day out. It's a stand still carnival bigger than anything we see here in Knott county Kentucky.
I think Camden Park is ok for children, I went there for the first time this year and had fun with the kids. It isn't much of an amusement park but my experience there was good, and as long as my kids liked it, that's really all that matters. I thought most of the employees were nice. I would go again although I did think admission prices were extremely high for what you get.
