20 yrs ago a group of us rafted the Lower New and recently, I brought my family to raft the same river....we had a blast! We are now organizing a group for the Reverse Gauley next fall. We can't wait to return! The guides are safety orientated and knowledgeable. The RV site (which is new), will need improvement however I felt the outpost as well as the gift shop were nice. We understood that renovations will be made shortly so it will be exciting to see all the new changes they will make! we didn't eat at the restaurant so I cannot reply to that yet I can say the DVD's you can purchase are steep in price - that's my only negative.

I don't like Appalachian wildwaters. I went here last summer with a summer camp. The food and dining room was absolutely disgusting. The staff in the restaurant was not friendly. In the campground the platform tents were too close together and they were gross as was the bath house. The equipment such as the lifejackets smelled musty like old sweat. The duckies were falling apart. And to make it all worse I forget the number the guide said but it seemed very high the fatalities over last 30 years they have been in business. Not suprisingly- they weren't very safety oriented. I would never again use this rafting company.

LIKED THE STAFF VERY GOOD AND HELP FULL CAMPGROUND NEEDS IMPROVEMENT HAVE TO GO TO MAIN AREA IN THE NIGHT UP THE HILL BY CAR BUT IT'S AGREAT TIME
