Tracie's Beauty Cottage & Day Spa, Charleston

The owner and staff of this establishment went above and beyond to accommodate my party. They stayed open past their scheduled hrs., had friendly and generous staff which pulled out all the stops to ensure that our experience was the best possible. My friends and I were VERY satisfied and will be going back every time we want to relax in a professional spa setting.

Great service, friendly people and I was very happy with the end results! I especially loved my hair cut! This place is just wonderful.

The absolute worst!! The owner is hateful, refused to refund my money on bad products and ended up attacking me regarding the end product of my hair. It was the most horrible, devastating hair disaster I have ever had at a price that was wildly different than I was quoted.

I took my mother to Tracie's for her birthday. It was great. A funfilled day from manicures to facials. They pampered us all day. It was great the service was great too the staff was very nice and receptive to what we wanted my mother had a great birthday. thanks tracie i will be back very soon for that much needed body wrap.

I asked for low lights and a trim. Instead of lowlights, my hair was colored all over, one color which was yellow and was chopped all over with a razor. I have fine thin hair and my hair has never been cut with a razor. Then I was charged an outrageous price. Friends told me I should go back and complain to the owner but that was not an option since the stylist was the owner. Worse than all of the above was that she was actually smoking in the salon. It was an expensive lesson to learn but hopefully this review will keep others from making the same mistake I did. No wonder there were appointments available on the day that I called! That should have been a clue.

Worst Spa ever. Do not go. Not worth the money or your time. Treated a family member awful ON HER BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I went in for a 1 hr pregnancy massage and 1 hr pedicure, first off I was with a friend of mine and she was getting similar services, so first off we set there for like 30 min, it was ok I understood because they were busy. Which once I got into the room for the massage she told me to get underdressed and lay on my side with the pregnancy pillow, which was fine with me since I had never had one. So I'm laying there getting a massage and next thing I know the massage therapist says shes done and walks outta the room. I think to myself that wasn't no hour, so I got dressed and walked outta the room and my friend was setting there and she even said the same thing, " You were only in there for like 30 min." I was thinking to myself maybe they start timing when you get undressed and positioned right?, which shouldn't count, since I was 8 months pregnant and uncomfortable. Then we sit back down to wait on our pedicures, well they finally rounded up 2 of the hair girls to do our pedis and had us to set in the bubbles for like 40 min before they even came in and scrub, salt and paint them. Which once they came in the room and started on them they were completely nice and talked to us like good friends, they even offered us drinks, which was nice. But overall it was ok, but I felt like the massage should have been longer than what she gave me for the price.

The service was terrible. Tracie was rude and the price was too much. I would never suggest this spa to anyone! I am surprised it is still in business.

I used to live in Charleston and Tracie's was my regular salon/spa for over 8yrs. I still go back everytime I am in to visit family. I have always loved the laid back atmosphere of Tracie's. I always get great service and have a blast talking to the girls that work there. I can only say good things about Tracie's! They have dealt with my unruly curls and skin. They even did my hair for my wedding! I've tried allot of spa's every where I have traveled and never found the level of care and service as I get here.

My sister and I went to Tracie's for facials, a perm, pedicures, and a massage. We were very pleased with the atmosphere and the staff. I was VERY happy with April, the massage therapist there. All the treatments were very nice and the staff took the time to explain each step and the benefits of what they were doing. They even gave us some pointers on things we could mimic at home. I am not sure why there are so many bad reviews about the service, it was GREAT! The place was clean and cozy. It was obvious there has been a lot of work that went into making the rooms very inviting and relaxing. There was a down side, however. We were quoted prices over the phone by different people and when we got there the price of the perm was DRASTICALLY different. We were told a standard perm was $50.00 but because my sister would require an extra thing of solution it may be a little more. The cost of the perm ended up being $120.00! Granted, she did use the extra thing of solution and they did double wrap some of her curlers (at an extra cost of $20.00 which was not big deal) but to almost triple the price was crazy! I spoke to Tracie about my concerns and although she was very nice about the matter, she did not reduce the price at all. I would recommend Tracie's Day Spa but with a caution. If you are on a budget, even a very liberal budget, make sure you speak with the staff and Tracie before they start the proceedure. I left feeling happy about most of the services but very upset about the price change and feel that is no way to conduct business. Overall our experience was good and I will go back because I feel they did a good job but, I will be MUCH more careful about pricing quotes in the future.
