Ellen's Homemade Ice Cream, Charleston

Ellen's has a nice little cafe set up and its in the historical district. Everything I've had @ Ellen's is really good. All the staff are extremely pleasent and will let you try samples of soups and ice creams if you ask. Its one street up from the transit mall so I stop on my way to and from WVSU. The veggie chili is really good and comes with great cornbread (and I'm not a vegetarian lol). Prices are pretty decent for downtown particularly if you get the special of the day. I got Chili, Cornbread and a drink for $5 or $6. The hot chocolate and Chocolate joe are both great very chocolaty. Smoothies and ice creams are out of this world. there are also some unique things on the menu like a grilled PB and J sandwich. If your in the area it would be a shame not to stop by and try some of their excellently prepared food.
