Star Theatre, Berkeley Springs

When we first visited the Star Theatre in Berkeley Springs, it was like being transported back to our childhood - to the days of a huge warehouse-like theatre, where everyone is watching the same movie, and where you've got to pick your seat carefully so you can see over the guy in front of you! Even the prices take you back a couple of decades. It's only $3 for adults (and for an extra 50 cents, you can reserve a couch to sit on!). And the food is reasonably priced too - the popcorn (with REAL butter) is only $3.50 for the giant-sized tub! The Star theatre is owned and operated by a local couple who give serious thought to the movies they show. They give equal time to family-oriented shows and R-rated movies. While you won't find the modern amenities of stadium seating and surround sound in this small theatre, the memories you get and the great price you pay will make the experience well worthwhile!
