Not an Attraction
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/07
We were in Tacoma, up from Portland for a short vacation. Went to Pt. Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. Loved it. Loved the Glass Museum. And then we sought out Yahoo Travel's #3 Tacoma Attraction, the hard to find, not worth the bother, little souvenir store called the Pacific Northwest Shop. There was something off about it and we did not stay long inside. I would not say the experience was fun. We did not buy anything. I would not recommend anyone go to the bother of seeking out this store. It was definitely not worth the time or bother to find it. Now Pt. Defiance, that we would visit again.

Don't Bother Looking For It.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/07
We can't imagine why Yahoo rates this dumpy little out of the way store as the #3 Attraction in Tacoma. The store is very small, very cluttered, was stuffy on a warm day. There was an odd malodor in the store that was offputting. The store seemed very old-fashioned and not in a good way. For instance their checkout method is something you just don't see in stores anymore, as in antiquated. And very slow. The store has a potholed dirt/gravel parking lot that is very cramped. All in all this store was definitely not worth the bother of finding and certainly would not be most people's idea of an attraction.

Mt. St. Helens Volcanic Ash
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/04
This store was a great find. Beautiful glassware made from volcanic ash. I bought a platter made with fused glass surrounding a copper salmon that is now a centerpiece in my living room. The store was a bit hard to find, but that was likely because I was new to Tacoma and not used to a hilly city. I've now ordered another salmon glass product from their website and am very happy with it. Great place and a great state! Can't wait for my next visit to Washington!

Beautiful store, beautiful location. The Proctor District is a must see. Great products if you want anything from the Great Northwest.
