Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum, Winchester

This is a wonderful place for an outing. My children love to come here and explore and play. Mr. Mark is always so kind and talks to all the children. My kids will be on their best behavior if they get to go to the Discovery Museum.

We came here for a sleepover with our Brownie Troop. I didn't know what to expect but when we arrived, the girls were busy from that moment until we made them go to sleep. Terrific place for a birthday party or group trip! Lorri Birch

This museum has many things to do for kids and adults! We go every month or so and never tire of the exhibits. We are members and recommend membership for everyone ... what a deal!

This is a small, museum in a storefront on a pedestrian mall. Fun exhibits in theme areas: simple machines, ranger station, puzzles and games, raceways for balls on ramps, climbing wall, and a Native American long house. I recommend it to anyone of any age. Don't be fooled into thinking it is only for little kids. I have seen people of all ages playing and enjoying themselves for hours. No electronic exhibits! Free, first Friday of every month, 5-7p.m.

Staff is terrific! Very friendly, made us feel welcomed. Kids played for hours and did not want to leave.

My family totally enjoyed the Discovery Museum. The exhibits are fun and engaging. My daughter loved the hospital and ambulance area. The apple packing was lots of fun too. You could spend lots of time in the museum. We will definitely be back.

There were lots of opportunities for open ended play meeting the needs of multiple ages, (including adults). Found out about some great opportunities for classroom and homeschool programs as well as scout overnights.

I liked the total experience. It opened at 9 AM, we left to get lunch (walked to a good, family restaurant) and then went BACK to play with more great exhibits! New exhibits/interactive pieces are happening every month or so and the staff is amazingly helpful, smiley, kind and a pleasure to "play" with.
