Military Circle Mall, Norfolk

I started a job less than a mile from this mall in September and have visited a few times on my lunch break to check out clothes and do Christmas shopping, etc. I feel that all the mall has going for it is its convenience to major roads. However, its location in Norfolk is not a good one - the area is notorious for crime, especially property crime and theft from vehicles. Besides that, the choice in stores is limited, and, overall, the stores are generally unkempt, a reflection of the employees that staff them. The mall parking lot is a hangout spot and each time I was there I saw groups of men loitering and acting suspiciously (meeting in the parking lot, getting into each others cars for a few minutes then getting out, and standing around talking, looking not at eachother, but everyone else going about their business in the parking lot. This loitering, congregating in groups, and staring is disconcerting for anyone but especially females who are alone. Not far from Military Circle are are other malls in better, statistically safer areas with better selections in the way of stores. I recommend those places above Military Circle (Lynnhaven Mall, Greenbrier Mall, Town Center)

I can tell from these reviews that the hardcore black people hang out here, thusly us whites are scared. P: That, or they're indian. In any event I wouldn't appreciate my rental van being broken into. Maybe we should all just be friends? Or was that whole Civil War thing not worth it? xD Anyways, as soon as I read "Corn Rolls," i assumed it might be a food of sorts, then realized they must be black. And also continued to read about "Underwear too high" which I'm not entirely sure i understand that... but still, after reading the last review on this place; My uncle and I agreed to avoid it during our vacation. On a lighter note, Nauticus was awesome, I'm going to review that now.

Military Circle is the best mall I've been to in virginia and I've been to every mall in the 7 cities. It has stores that cater to every race despite what you may have heard...if you are afraid of being around people with Dreads, Waves, and Corn Rolls Sexy girls or a sexy Male like myself then shop somewhere else. Lynhaven does not have many stores for every culture they have stores for mostly the Rock n Roll and country type of people and Pembroke is just the worse of all on buying different fashions Macauthur is the second best mall. So if your underwear is up to high and you can't walk in this mall and you scared don't go there...the crimes that people are saying happen there and the loud conversation you over hear happen in all the malls...so don't try to make it seem like it only happens in military circle. Most of these comments that are bad about Military Circle Mall comes from people who stereotype other people because there fears and the (Wanna be'S ) other ethnic pretenders who want to be another skin complextion from a different creed and because they're not recognized the way they want to be by their most common group who look more like them then the other creed so they talk down on their closely related group of people.Just shop for what you want don't worry about what cultures may be seen around you.The best shoe and clothing stores are there from business man suits to Black hoodies and Gloves and up against the wall has all culture clothes so does jc pennys and macys and a few other stores I go to other malls to though just because I like going to different places seeing and meeting different people but Military holds the crown on shopping out of all the malls. The mall is in a convenient location. I have never experienced any rude behavior, and it is easy to run in and out to pick up items. The movie theater offers wonderful, customer serice.

In this mall all Indians are clever, so careful about Indians.

The Mall it self is okay, Do not go to the store Trading Phones. they lie and steel from you without a gun. There return policy is awful,If they tell you just bring it back for a refund, tell them to put it in writing if not don't buy. When you come back they tell you it's on the receipt and on the window. I will never buy anything from there agian. If the mall keeps establishments around like this and allow them to that take advantage of customers I won't be going to the mall anymore. If you have had a problem with this store please contact the mall office and file a complaint. Thats the only way to get rid of places like this.

As a security officer with Military Circle Mall for the past 3 years, I am sad to say that any and all personal protection has been stripped from the officers. With the latest G.M. in place, we have lost our arrest powers, mace cans, and even the Norfolk Police, who would patrol with us in and around the mall. We are and have been truly on our own at this mall. This is a sad story. Protection for our customers is a joke.

This is my favorite mall to go to. It has all the stores that I love and it lets you really get a taste of the city of norfolk!!!!!

Military Circle Mall is the worst kind of shopping experience you can have. People are insanely rude, foul and trashy. The stores cater to only one particular subtype of a culture that deserves much better representation. People amble along having stupid conversations at the top of their lungs and like to insult you, not knowing who you are. I've narrowly avoided two fights and was involved in a third when a young lady with an especially foul mouth took exception to me asking her to please watch her language in front of my 5 year old niece. Also, the security might as well not exist. My purse and wallet were stolen out of my locked car (they were out of sight) in broad daylight. If you want a good shopping experience in Norfolk, pay the extra couple dollars and go to MacArthur or make the trek to Lynnhaven. Also, Greenbrier is just down the interstate and has a better shopping experience.

I use to go to this mall alot when i was little but that was back in the 80's and things were not as bad then(at least not in the mall). Anyhow, i agree with the previous reviews..It is a fashion show and it's more like a dating scene. Even when you go in the stores..I've noticed some of the clerks(male & female) tend to have this attitude where they respect or i should say are more polite to the customers who come in acting ignorant. When someone such as myself, who try and come in and say "Hi, how are you doing?" they half way want to speak... Not unless I was to send out that image that i am sleezy or i have jewelry and gold grills all in my mouth. Yes, i too am African American but is this all we have to classify ourselves as such? Check yourself. A Mall is suppose to be a family atmosphere not somewhere where i have to continuously walk in stores with or without my kids hearing tasteless music or tasteless conversations that exploit us further as being ignorant. Recognize when you are contributing to the problem and not helping to solve the solution!
