Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock

This is a no-frills sugarhouse located at a hillside farm overlooking the scenic and historic Ottauquechee valley just outside Woodstock, Vermont. I drove up there one day just to see what it was all about and as a native Vermonter I was pleasantly surprised--no tourist trap, just a hard-working, visitor-friendly farm that is supplementing its income in the traditional Vermont way, by making and selling Vermont native product--that is, pure Vermont maple. "Atmosphere" depends what you're looking for and what you expect. Sugarbush Farm is the real thing.
