Over priced staged photos passed off as ART. Ask this dude about his natural lighting of Delicate Arch and what the park service charged him with. Which makes me mad to go to this gallery and read the bull of waiting hours or days to get the wonderful photos he has for sale at new car prices.
Wow! Amazing Photography! I have known alot of photographer/artist and he is one of the most talented I have ever seen.
I think the Cibachromes/photos were very reasonably priced. Anyone who knows about art knows how expensive and time consuming it is to use the type of camera he uses (8x10) and to develop the cibachromes...a material which is harder and harder to find in the new digital world.
Everyone makes mistakes, what counts is how you live your life on a daily basis and what you give back...
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
The photos are Nice but over priced. The guy says he uses only natual light but was charged for seting a fire under Delicate Arch for lighting a picture. Can not turst the other great pictures are for real. But is nice to look at and if you have a feww etra grand and a very large living room to hang these big pictures--go for it.
On a recent visit to Zion National Park, we visited the Fatali gallery in Springdale, Utah. We had seen many beautiful photographs of Southern Utah, which initially fired our desires to see this colorful area - but nothing had prepared us for the gently blazing beauty of Mr. Fatali's surrealistically sharp and luminous images. They are obviously the work of a deeply caring and loving spirit, one that is able to absorb the essence of the land, its colors and shapes, and the deeper truths that the rocks and rivers convey.
Even at extremely large reproduction formats, Fatali's photographs hold their crispness and clarity without effort; and his method of photography, using only natural light and a very carefully considered program of exposure, yields color and contrast that explode with fantasy and, at the same time, convince the viewer of their sincerity, that the colors are absolutely real (which of course they are).
Most importantly, Falati's sense of composition is virtually flawless; no painter precisely positioning the elements of his more-or-less fictionalized landscape could create a scene that would better inspire the viewer's interest or her emotion. Fatali's pictures warmly invite one into the image - or more importantly, the actual landscape - enticing one to observe, experience and appreciate the great gifts of nature his images portray. For the preservationist who believes that these lands represent one of the last best places on the planet, nothing could be more critical, because understanding and appreciation lead directly to preservation. If I were trying to convert a potential wilderness advocate into a real preservationist, Mr. Fatali's image-gospel would be one of the first documents I would utilize, for none of which I know speak more eloquently of the intimate and the grand that comprise the Colorado Plateau.
These images are genuine masterpieces, the real deal, made by an artist who is not only an expert technician but also one who loves his subject and seeks its true mysteries in every exposure. My family felt privileged to be able to cavort in the wild beauty of Southern Utah - and the visit to Mr. Fatali's gallery near the start only served to heighten the experience and deepen our fascination with that amazing country. One must not miss an opportunity to visit the gallery when staying near Zion National Park, and if possible to support the singularly beautiful artistry of Fatali.
