This is absolutely the most amazing place you could imagine in terms of scenery. As you drive in to the national park, you actually descend down a winding road to the bottom of a canyon and it is unbelievable. You almost feel like you're driving in the bottom of the grand canyon. This is a do not miss place. Very spiritual and breathtaking.
wonderful day trip from Vegas...about 4 hours. Beautiful road trip views all the way there. $25 per car admission fee, but it is WELL worth it. Be sure to have time to do the 5 mile hike along the side of the mountain cliffs...I heard it was awesome, although we didnt have enough time before dark to go up.
This was my second time to go to Zion. It is one of the most breathtaking places around. The shuttles are terrific. You can get off and on at any place for a short hike. The river hike, is cool even when the temperature if over 100 as it was the days we were there. Springdale is a really cute little town with very friendly people and restaurants with excellent food.
We drove through here on our way to Tucson, Arizona and it was AMAZING. I had no idea rock formations could be so pretty. The colors and the shapes - everything. I could live there! We hit it right before a rainstorm, so I was able to see it in the sunlit beauty AND flowing with water. I would recommend STAYING there if you go - there is too much to see in one day.
I loved every second of every day of my trip to Zion. My favorite was when my family and I rented bikes from Zion photo. We rode through the paruhs bike trail and then up to the Zion lodge. We got to see some deer hanging out on the side of the road which we would have missed if we were in the shuttle. Around every turn was another breathtaking view. Zion national park must be what heaven looks like. I want to move to Utah and live that life every day. It just brings a calm to your soul.
a must visit to our National Parks, ther some so many togeather in Utah we had planned to vist a couple in a day but spent two days in Zion. Great shuttle system keeps the canyon quiet for great hikes which there ar many that take your breath away- I was dead tired for a week after but god it was fun.
