Relaxed, Redrock Golfing!
By Brandon, 6/26/12
I have golfed here since I was a teenager (or even pre-teen) while going to the fabulous Shakespearean Festival with family. It has turned in to our annual family reunion. I have fond memories golfing here with my dad and grand parents and now am creating memories by golfing here with my sons ( I don't have daughters!). The course has evolved through the years from a real basic municipal course having just 9 holes to adding a back nine, relocating and upgrading the club house, and layout changes to the golf course. The front nine is still very close to the original course (as I knew it). The 9th hole was originally hole #1 and the old club house is what is now the maintenance shed near the tee box of hole 9. This is truly a hidden gem of a golf course. The scenery (particularly on the front nine) is really world class. There are fantastic redrock vistas, and interesting/undulating terrain. It is a municipal course, and as such, isn't as manicured and high brow as other courses. To me, this is some of the charm of this golf course. The prairie dogs are rampant, but there is not much the course can do about it due to the endangered classification of the prairie dog. But even this is kind of amusing and makes for a different set of challenges unique to the course. Perhaps my review is tainted by nostalgia, but I have found that if you come to this golf course to relax and have a good time with family and friends (as opposed to serious golfing and looking for a world class experience) that you will be rewarded with a good time and fond memories.

Prairie Dogs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/9/10
I'm not a golfer, so there isn't much I can say about the course, but as a biologist I felt like I should explain the prairie dog situation. The Utah praire dog is listed as Threatened under the Endangered Species Act. The cultivated grass of the course is very attractive to this species, as are the area's cemeteries and alfalfa fields. Please don't blame the golf course for this problem. It's probably very difficult to manage a course around a federally protected species. Relocations are being done to move dogs from private property where they're in conflict with humans to areas on public land where they won't be. Just be patient.

A pleasent surprise
By Jodi, 8/30/08
I enjoy the course. I don't get out too often but when I do it is always a fun outing. The only draw back is the price for a small town course. When you are the only game in town you can charge a little more. But, once again I love to get out on the links. Like a friend once said,"A poor day out on the course is better than a day in the office."

I go to Cedar Ridge Golf course everyday! I think the prarie dog hole provide a challange, just like sand traps. the course has a welcoming atmosphere, where in the clubhouse you can have cold drink or some good cooking, great course!

Major Disappointment
By brandonw, 7/13/08
The course's website shows green fees as $20 for 18 holes and $9 for cart rental. When I got there, paying for 2 people and a cart cost me $74. Needless to say, I felt a little misled by the website. I was further disappointed to find that the severe groundhog problem left the course looking like a mine field. The hundreds of groundhogs not only make the fairways their playground, but they also think that golf balls are fun to steal. I thought with the expensive greens fees that course maintainence would be evident, but most of the back nine didn't even have cart paths. All in all I was extremely disappointed with this course, given the ammount I paid to play there. I think the only way I would play there again is if it was free...and my TV was broken.

Great Course
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/4/08
We golf here regularly. It is scenic course that winds thru the hills on the front nine and thru an area of homes on the back. Not a 5 Star in the sense of luxury. Just a welcoming atmosphere and a scenic place, more casual. The prairie dogs have made it thier home, they can be a nuisance!
