Spouse Golf
The course itself is not too shabby for a public course in East Texas. The best thing I like about it is that is a good golf course to play for husband and wife. I have a normal 8 handicap and shot 73. My wife is a normal 25 handicapper and shot 93. The course does not have a lot of risk/reward type shots, but like any other course, it has just enough hazards to keep it interesting for both players. (I am speaking from the back set of tees) All of the par 5's are reachable in 2, except for maybe #6. (but I think you could reach that on a good day with a little wind help) No sand, but local knowledge could help you on some tee shots. A good value for the money and play moved along at a good pace. Bonus: the Hungry Hole eatery beside the putting green makes a great burger! The course was in good shape and the greens were a bit slower than I am used to, but were putting true. No sand made the wife happy! There is a driving range (with pro instruction) across the street. I would definetly recommend Wood Hollow as a place to play!
