A park with a hairy past
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/06
Despite the awesome fun one can have in this state park, one should know of the regions "Unknowns." A history going back hundreds of years shows us the possibility of the "sasquatch" or commonly known "bigfoot" existing in the greater wooded areas of North America. Huntsville (or the greater Sam Houston National Forest) is a hotspot for sasquatch sightings, and Texas alone brings in 150 sightings anually. In the mid 70's a small girl and her cousin actually spoted one of these elussive creatures on the banks of Lake Raven (state park lake). Sightings in the region are actually very common if one looks into the matter. So explore the region if you may, but don't be supried if one day you catch a glimps of our hairy bipedal friend. -John M.
