No Stinky Pets Allowed

Tom’s Thumb Nursery - This weekend my sister and I went to Tom Thumb's Nursery in Galveston for their Christmas Open House. As I have done in the past, I took my 7 year old miniature schnauzer in the store for a walk thru the beautiful landscaping area, but I guess it was a bad idea this weekend.
We walked thru the door and were greeted by several customers who commented “what a cute dog.” Thank you! My sister was greeted by the owner, "HE STINKS, HE HAS TO GO"! How rude was that! My sister called my name several times to get my attention to leave, but I was looking at her beautiful decorations in the store. The owner did come up to me, and I told her the Christmas decorations were beautiful, but was cut off and told "HE STINKS, HE HAS TO GO.” We left thru the side door very upset at her comments. As we were leaving, one of her employees acknowledged he was a cute dog. I also told her we had to leave because he stinks. She said he did not, as well as several other employees and customer commented. We did leave and will not be returning to her Santa Paws she has during the Christmas Holidays. If your dog stinks, do not go there. I am quite sure there is a polite way to tell your customers to leave the store with their dog. I know she has 2 dogs that regularly come to the store, but I guess they smell like flowers.
