great place

I loved the gallleries, and the art was very interesting.. I really enjoyed the history and the architecture of the original home, which was built by Henry Trost ( famous architect) the beauty of his stylre has been preserved and I feel this wonderful feeling of how grand architecture was back in the early 1900's.

Beautiful venue for regional and international art
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/05
Housed in the beautiful Turney mansion built in the early 1900's, the International Museum of Art in El Paso is a delightful surprise. The permanent collection includes works by some of the best known artists of the El Paso region, such as L. B. Porter, Eugene Thurston, Bill Bissell, Manuel Acosta, and William Kolliker. The museum hosts the annual Sun Bowl Art Show in November and December and the El Paso Art Association's Art's International Exibition in October in addition to dozens of other shows featuring artists from throughout the Southwest and the world. All media are represented in addition to donated exibits of beautiful antique furniture, procelain, stained glass windows and textiles. Don't miss visiting this art scene gem while in El Paso. We enjoyed our time there, immensely.
