Padre Staples Mall
Anchored by Bealls, Dillard's, JC Penney's, and Foley's, this popular shopping mall also features around 100 other specialty stores, as well as a food court, a movie theater, and an authentic replica of Phillip Schneider's first double-decker Carousel built in Germany in 1898.
The city itself has been my all-time family vacation spot. My best childhood memories that I cherish the most are there in Corpus Christi. But to me every place has that one special landmark that I pin most of my memories to. In Corpus Christ, it was the carousel at the mall. I was disappointed to find out years later when I return that the Carousel was removed.
But aside from my personal life, the mall has changed a lot. The food court which was once located upstairs was moved downstairs with some more variety to choose from, and now there is a fancy Valet parking.
The mall is JAM PACKED with clothing, clothing, clothing, and MORE clothing stores. I'm not sure who said that it needs more clothing stores, it has enough. Come on, if it covers your body then it's FINE, I am not one that is going to pay extra only because i want fancy stripes in my plain black shirt or some stupid initials. I don't care if its "Hip it's now" or "in style", i don't really care for anything of that nonsense. The clothes won't define who I am, I DEFINE who I am with who I am, not what I wear. I would like a mall with VARIETY. The only VARIETY I have now is at the Food Court.
The only true upgrade was the Food Court, everything else seemed to have gone downhill. They need MORE stores that require some sort of activity, and the exercise place was somewhat of a nice touch. However, it's no longer the same, it feels like it went downhill.
I agree with everyone else... We have like no stores with shopping at in our mall. For us younger women our main clothing stores are limited to Forever 21 and Wet Seal. Its annoying how u can't keep from buyin atleast 1 thing that none of ur other friends have. I mean seriously! I would love it if they gave us like a Fredricks of Hollywood, Ecko Red Store, and more of a variety of diff styles to choose from. But hey thats just me, I mean I personally like to mix my wardrobe up. I'm not just classy, but also laid back, or clubbin nights. Point blank we need more diversity in our stores. Or we will never grow an attract more business and people in general to our little town...
If the city would actually like to grow up, it should start with the mall. Corpus wants to be a first tier metropolitian area so badly, yet, refuses to let go of the past and actually advance. The mall is still seasons behind and doesn't have stores that people actually like going to... no wonder everything keeps closing up...
I wish it was more like San Antonio/ Houston malls!

its ok because i live nearby. It has some nice stores like american eagle, exress,& forever xxi but i just wish it had more of the feeling of san antonio/ houston malls. At least over there we get even more selection. An awsome food court. Not like this one with only 3 to choose from. Whats with empty spaces too? What happened to benjamins? The movies at the mall would be cool there too! We just want more so the people that live in the area don't have to go out of town! Hope to get more it never really changes.
I hate this mall! It's dark and stinky and while they have all the "cool kids" stores (emphasis on kids) they lack style. It would be nice to see stores like "Urban Outfitters" or "anthropologie", more specialized stores like "sur la table". I guess it's the best hang out for teenagers, which is sad. But there's not much else to do than go to the beach. We need some diversity!
I've lived in Portland all my life. And every Friday we would go to Padre Staples mall. Its wonderful. I like the fact that they aren't afraid to carry a Hot Topic or a Spencers. Lately they've been doing work to the building which makes it really weird to look at, but at least it's changing up a bit!
I lived in Dallas my entire life. Willowbend, Collin Creek, and Stonebriar, are all a bit more high class than that of Corpus Christi. The stores are of much higher quality and there is more of a selection. I will be moving to Corpus to attend A&M and have been transfered to the Forever 21 that has just opened in that Mall. That store is WAY nicer than the one in Willowbend but it JUST opened so I expected it to be.
i like to shop at the stores because they have a wide selection !
my friend threw up there ,but dont worry they cleaned it right up. :D and if you go during the weak there is hardly any people! so it is good☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
