A well-spent hour and one-half

My wife and I were visiting Austin, Texas and made a side trip to College Station. Saw a brochure about these miniature horses and decided to return via Brenham to see them first hand. We arrived about 1:15pm (check hours)and admired and petted the friendly and curious tiny well-formed creatures. At 1:30 entered by the front gate (don't miss the posted 11 comandments, the sisters may be cloistered, but they have a wonderful sense of humor). The gift shop is the first stop to pay a nominal admittance fee. The gentleman that works for the Sisters is a warm and welcoming individual that provides information about the animals and the mission of the Sisters. We toured the grounds, saw about 10 of the horses including a 7 day old foal (talk about small) and enjoyed a video about miniature horses. We also visited the Sisters' lovely chapel located nearby on their 39 acre farm. This is a great place to visit and I recommend it for both adults and families.
