Laurel Valley Golf & Country Club, Townsend

Laurel Valley boasts a mediocre course at best. I was excited at first to play the course; however, the fairways were in terrible shape. Patchy grass and dry conditions made the round seem like you were playing on concrete with a quarter inch of grass on top. While some of the greens were in great shape, the consistency of the shape from hole to hole was puzzling. For the price of the round, much better values can be found only minutes away in either Maryville or Knoxville that boast superior courses at a greater value. The atmosphere at the course was great though nestled in the Smoky Mountains.

Laurel Valley is agreat place to play and enjoy a round of golf for the benefits of just being outdoors. I have played the course numerous times in the last 10 years and even though it has not always been in great shape it is still a great outing. From the hidden second shot on number one ( for us short drivers), the mini G'burg #12 on the second hole to number 10 with it's elevated tee shot you will find plenty to excite you about this course. Can't wait for our October visit. Hope it is not too crowded.

We played the course two times, 18 1st day, 27 2nd day. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful courses we have ever played. Course is beautifully maintained and operated by very friendly people. Seeing turkey and deer wandering was like frosting on the cake.

Loved the course. Felt like I was at home course, nice atmosphere and friendly folks. Few blind greens, but overall a fun course. A little ou of way, but worth the drive.
