Smoky Mountain Deer Farm & Exotic Petting Zoo, Sevierville

i am 40 years old ,a mother of two and a wildlife activist with a masters degree,and have been going to this deer farm petting zoo for over 12 years.and have been there many times,sometimes once a week..and did all they have to offer from horseback riding, pony rides and their amazing petting zoo.it has always been the best experience .always fun,always clean ,always unique! Never have i seen any harm done to these precious animals as stated below,this zoo is great! We love it! The owner and staff have always been kind and always working hard to take care of the variety of animals there. My favorites are the camels and zonkeys,they are sooo funny.all the animals are wonderful! I would highly recomend this zoo to everyone.every age group! They are top of the line.oh!and they also rescue animals,which i love! Thanks deer farm for all the years of providing amazing fun for my girls .laura b

I hated this petting zoo. Staff member named Joe kicked a goat and hit a donkey really hard with a rake handle right in front of me and my 9 month old baby. I cried all the way home, reported the abuse to owner Linn, who was lied to by Joe and didn't fire him. Total waste of money, DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THIS PLACE.

Just visited this place for the first time,,its wonderful !!! The animals are all clean,healthy,& friendly,unlike other zoos they will come right up to you,all in nice clean cages,the pony ride is in a beautiful wooded setting,my 2 year old really enjoyed the whole trip,i would recommend this place to anyone who loves animals,its well worth the price !! We will go again..There was nothing that we disliked about this zoo !!!

Took the grand kids here on our recent trip to the Smokies. They really enjoyed themselfs as did everyone in our group. There were many animals to see and feed. The staff was wonderful to everyone answering all of our questions. We will be going back for another visit next time we are in the Smokies.

we own the yogi bears jellystone rv and resort in gatlinburg tennessee we had a chance to take my grandaughter to the deer farm exotic petting zoo, it was so clean and the owners all the way down to the workers treated us like family. This place was awsom my grand daughter and all of us including my father in law enjoyed ourselves. I am recomending this to all our campers. thanks to the owners i now have a wonderfull place to take my family and grandaughter, as we left today wed-april 13th 2011 my 2 1/2 year old grandaughter called the petting zoo,,,(home)) anyone reading this this was inexpensive, fun learning, and informative. It was excepyionally clean the animales were awsom this is the type buissness that treats families like family thx dave marta landry and family

We first tried a farm called "Ponderosa"...what a mistake! Don't EVER go there! We called the Deer Farm and asked about a horse ride. The gentleman on the phone said "sure...come on down". We did and found them to be extremely helpful and courteous. He treated my wife and a friend with complete respect and honesty. I would go here again in a heartbeat!!!!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

My nieces and nephew request Deer Farm for their birthdays every year. The pony rides have them hooked. My neice Julia loves Smoky and has to ride him everytime. She is so excited to go this year and we look forward to going back! Great for kids and the zonkey is awesome!!!!

My 2 year old loved the pony ride. It did smell bad, but I guess that is hard to avoid. She had a nice time getting close to the animals.

Went this past weekend (Oct 5). Weather was nice and cool. First thing we noticed when we got there was the smell, but we grew up on a farm so it wasn't "that" much of a shock. Kids enjoyed the pony ride. That was pretty neat. As for the petting zoo, it needs help. I don't like to see animals in gravel floored "cages/pens" with little to no vegitation and nowhere to run and play. It was all pretty barren. The cages need updating to be more realistic to the animal's natural environment. Deer and goats laying on gravel to rest. Ow. Each pen had a small shed but I doubt it large enough to fit all the animals in if they needed shade or shelter. The most annoying part was that there were no paper towels anywhere in sight to wipe your hands off (ended up wiping on my jeans !) and no hand sanitizer in sight--not even in the bathrooms. We've been to other petting zoos where they had hand sanitizer and paper towels outside of each pen. That would have been wonderful. I hope they take good care of their animals and let them out to play sometimes. It just kinda felt like a prison to me. My kids, however LOVED it.

If you have kids who love animals this is an awesome place to go, the kids get to feed and pet different animals (goats, horses, ponies, zebra, reindeer etc). The people are very friendly too and I've never been to a place where you can pet and feed so many different animals. The camels are cute too!! Just be a little careful of the deers, they stomp all over your feet to get food! We also took our daughter for a pony ride here and she loved it!!! Great place, definitely recommend. Also no problems with the cats, they were so friendly!!
