Can you say \"TOXIC\" stream?
By GARY, 12/6/07
Next time you're passing through Knoxville, and take the time to visit Tyson Park, take a few extra minutes to read the "Warning" sign next to the stream passing through the park. I'd rather swim with a school of sharks (and I HATE sharks!) than take a wade in that stream. Keep the kids out! Otherwise, like everyone else says...it's a beautiful park!

Great stop/break for kids
By Laura J, 3/8/07
This park is terrific, though a little hard to find - even with Yahoo Travel directions. The drive into the park is very easy to miss. We passed by it 3 times before realizing it. The park itself is beautiful - a great place for a leisurely picnic. And, they have a large playground for kids with the largest climbing structure in Knoxville - and the biggest one I've ever seen. My daughters love it. We always stop at the park for a break when we're doing our semi-annual drive to Alabama from Virginia. We stop and grab lunch somewhere and take it to the park. The kids eat, then play for 20 minutes or so, and that seems to be enough time for them to get some of their wiggles out. It makes the final leg of our trip a little easier.
