Christus Gardens, Gatlinburg

I hate that they closed, are closing. This was one of the BEST places in Gatlinburg. It's garden area with the following eyes sculpture was so peaceful. It really felt like it belonged in the mtn area.. Especially to destress. I went first as a young girl. I will miss it being there. I hope another place like it will open.

Christus Gardens is open again and better than ever! They have redone a few things and it is great. Ride the ski lift and get 2 dollars off on your visit.

I visisted this place when I was 7 yrs. old and have ached to go back. Finally after 40 years I'm going back and now my favorite place is no more. I'm heartbroken at this lose. It seems as though Satan can't stop taking what doesn't belong to him. My prayers are with Ron and his family. God bless!!

This has been something that we do every year and I had no idea that it would be closing. We were actually going to tour it again and were very saddened to find it closed. I hope someone decides to buy and reopen it soon. We greatly missed this stop on our vacation.

We have been going to Gatlinburg for years and wanted to check out the Christus Gardens. This year we found out it was sold and would be closing its doors after the new year started, so we opted to go. After spending nearly $50 for a family of four, I have to say I was very disappointed. It was dark, dank and caveish. There were spiderwebs on some of the statues and you could tell that is was just old and outdated. The only good thing was everything in the gift shop was 50% off so we shopped for a good price. If you want to see a good Christian show, skip this self-guided audio tour and go see The Miracle in Pigeon Forge.

Worth the monies and very inspirational. Detail of the sets were awesome almost life like.We visited on June 22, 2007 for a youth retreat. This is a great place to visit if you believe in God and want a break from the ordinary tourist traps in Gatlinburg. They have their very own parking lot, which has free parking. It is $12 for adults and small children under 7 are free to get in. The only negative thing I can say is that it is a very short show. Basically, it is a self-guided audio tour that shows different scenes of Jesus's life thru life-like mannequins. It starts with His birth and ends with his Easter resurrection. After the tour, their is a small garden that you exit thru. There are some ancient bible and coin exhibits afterwards as well. This is a great place to take small children. My 4 year old and 2 year old loved it. It is also a great place to escape the heat and the outside. The life of Christ tour is held in a very dark building, so you can escape from the cruel weather. Photos are prohibited, but you can purchase post cards of the place for only 15 cents each. The place is very well kept and maintained, even though it is over 53 years old now. Music and audio could use some updating for the tour, but it is nothing that will damper your visit.

THIS PLACE BRINGS THE CHRISTIAN AS WELL AS THOSE THAT LOVE THE LORD TO A CLOSER TIE. THE DISPLAYS AND AUDIO ARE EXCELLENT. BEING THE AGE THAT THE CHARACTERS ARE SHOWS THE LEVEL OF CARE AND MAINTANENCE OF THE FACILITY. DISPLAYS OF DONATED BIBLES FROM AROUND THE WORLD MAKE THIS A WORTHY ADDITION TO YOUR TRIP INTO THE SMOKIES.

It seemed out dated you could not take pictures. It smelled old closed up building in there. I thought for as much money as they charge the up keep on the building could be better.

This is worth your time and money to see. Very lifelike. The price was about $10 and well worth it. We went in Oct. and it wasn't very busy anywhere we went.
