Every time we visit the smokey mtns we make it a point to stop in and buy candy. Our favorites are choc cherries, almond toffee crunch, pnt butter fudge, and caramel apples with nuts.. I spend almost $50.00 every trip. wish you could buy online but hey it gives us an excuse to travel.. Stephanie C

Don't miss!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/09
Don't be fooled by other Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge candy stores. This is the only one you want to shop in and has been my entire life (grew up in Knoxville). We buy tons of it when we first get there and gobble it up. Then we have to buy more for the trip home! If parking is an issue, have a friend drop you off to shop while they circle around. It's worth it.

Best candy!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/09
We love this place! We take $100 every time we go and stock up on all of our favorites. We walk out with a very large bag. We are going to Myrtle Beach this year, but we are making a special stop on our way back to Ohio to get our candy. We will be adding 2 hrs. drive time, but it is well worth it!! I just wish we could buy it online from them.

Every Year
By LizG, 06/01/09
This store has the BEST Pecan Clusters. You can buy them somewhere else on the parkway or in Pigeon Forge, but they will not be as good as they are here. They really have great candy.

One Mean Clerk
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/09
I have always loved this place! Until this year, a friend and I stopped in to buy a pound of candy(mixed) I come to Gatlinburg every year sometime twice a year and bring my grandaughter with me it is one of our things to do to, go to ole smoky candy kitchen and buy candy we always enjoyed it so...This year I was on a bus tour and talked a friend into stoping for some of your candy and the clerk was talking to the other ladies, who was working, about a dog, this was ok as we were not in a rush,I ordered a1 lb mixed when she at last asked if she could help us.The friend seen she had only done 1/2, so I asked her if she was doing a lb. She, said, no you said, that you wanted a !/2 lb and was so rude I don't know why I didn't walk out and go to one of the other candy stores, I do hope you get her some help on how to treat the people going into your store, as I said until this year and I mean years and years of coming to your place, I have olways loved it, now I feel it will never have the same feeling and I don't know if I will let one smart mouth clerk keep me away.possiable becouse I love a happy good time and that makes for a very bad day. I alway say leave your problems at home don't take them to work with you. Mt. vernon,Il. Dorothy

Fifty-seven Years!
By mathgenius49, 04/26/09
I've been to the Smokies at least forty times since my first visit in 1951. Besides the beautiful mountains, the Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen is the highlight of the trip. The salt water taffy made on an eighty year old machine is the best in the world! Any and all of their chocolates are the greatest, and the prices are so low compared to Fannie May or Godiva. The caramels are to die for, and so are the pecan truffles, liquid dipped cherries, orange peels, creams, bark, pecan logs, etc. If only they had an online store---but I respect the wishes of the kindly eighty-seven year lady who owns both stores in downtown Gatlinburg. My wife and I were just there last week, and only spent ninety dollars on our two visits to the store. Unfortunately, what we brought home is just about gone (and we've only been home for two days.) Oh well, next April will find us back there as usual, for the most delicious candy and caramel apples in the world.

TOO BUSY TO NOTICE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/09
I got home with a box of chocolate peanuts instead of the chocolate rasins I asked for. Someone had broken a display box of candy and I guess to busy to listen to a customers request. I was bringing this home as a gift to a person who is allergic to peanuts. Thanks a lot. I could not return this because I did not find the mistake until I arrived home.

Move over Willy Wonka!
By M, 01/23/09
I've had a lot of candy over the years, but OSCK tops them all. This place has THE BEST Peanut Brittle I've ever eaten in my life! I'm ashamed to say I ate a 14oz tub of it by myself, not all at once mind you. I could NOT stop eating this stuff.....unbelievably good! I wish I had more and I wish they would open an online store. Do not pass this place by. You can keep your $32 a pound Godiva.
