We stopped here while on vacation after checking out the good reviews.
I must say this was a great place for an enjoyable meal and drinks.
After sampleing all 6 of their brews, I went with the Black Bear. (But then I prefer a darker beer) Much to my suprise...my wife who "never" drinks beer....enjoyed the Mountain Light over her normal reisling wine.
The staff was courteous and quick. We were told it would be a 1 hour wait on a Saturday night (7:45 PM), but we were seated in about 25 minutes, so that was fantastic.
Our waitress came almost right away, supplied us with more drinks and took our order.
Our food was delivered to our table very quickly, and was delicious.
Their steaks are GREAT!!!
I highly recommend this resturant when you are in Gatlinburg.
The food was marginal at best and service was slow. We have ate at several Calhoun's in East Tennessee and would say that the experience has been about the same at all of them. There are many better and more original places to eat in the Smokies.
We have been to the brewery several years in the past. This year was a bad experience. We had a party of 13, one was intoxicated. But we were not loud and we had responsible people there. The manager watched us from the time we came in till we got our drink orders. She came and grabbed a cup off the table that some one had carried in. She also kept walking by our table watching us. We all felt very uncomfortable. The young man that was waiting on us was very polite, but the manager was very rude. she made us feel very unwanted. We got our drink orders and then ordered our food. She came over and said that the man who was intoxicated would have to leave or the whole bunch would have to. We had 4 to get up and leave to make sure he got back to his motel, then they were coming back. The manager had come to the table and jerked a cup off the table that someone had carried in. We understand now that you can't carry one around, but it was the manner in which she did it. She was very rude to us, made us feel unwanted in her place of business and because of that we won't eat there when we go back to Gatlinburg. We sat there a while and then found out that she had canceled our food order and called the police. We paid for our drinks and went to The Cherokee Grill to eat and she had called them to warn them about us. They were very polite to us and bent over backwards to serve us there. Bottom line is, that we won't be going to your restaurant anymore. The lady you had as a manager that night was rude and she could have handled the situation much better than she did. She is a problem.
We went for lunch on our trip in January and we both ordered sandwiches. The food was marginal at best. Everything was plain and tasteless and I really think they're just doing the minimum at this place. Our service was nothing to write home about either. When we go back to Gatlinburg we will not eat here again.
Bathrooms Nsaty! Waiters were SLOW and RUDE. There was a Bachelor party going on there and they were way out of control for a nice resaurant. I've seen better from a block building on the side of a two-lane highway. Will not be back to this dump.
Beer was good! Thats it!
She called the police on some poor couple who were watching a football game and said they were drunk.. nonsense...My friends and I spoke to the couple during the game and they were straight. We later found out that the bartender was mad at the couple for some sort of slight. Can you imagine an employee calling the police on their own customers while drunk. The food was lame and the bathrooms were dirty...yuk!!!
I DONT KNOW WHERE THESE OTHER PEOPLE EAT BUT THE PLACE IS DIRTY. THE BATHROOMS ARE COLD AND SMELLY. I HAD A FLY IN THE SALAD, I TOLD THE WAITRESS AND SHE OFFERED BRING ME ANOTHER.. NOT.............THEY NEED TO CLEAN THE PLACE UP.
