Cumberland Riverwalk, Clarksville

It's not Clarksville who puts sewage in the Cumberland, it's Nashville. It flows to us. I worked at the Health dpt in Nashville several years ago & we had orientation. I ask the man giving the orientation why they allowed Nashville to dump the sewage in the Cumberland River. He said it is because it is a large body of water and it won't hurt anything. Wish he had to wash his body and hair in it & see how long it took him to get sores. But its pretty to look at and I do enjoy the river walk. Some places around Riverside Drive are worse smelling than others.The smell really bad smell is getting closer and closer to the River Walk. I don't know what could be done about it. Maybe our Mayor would do something about it if she were made aware of it. She just may not have any say so about what Nashvill does though. That load of crap also goes down to the dam at Cumberland City and slaps up against it. I have seen and smelled that.

My husband is in the army and was stationed to Fort Campbell so we came to Clarksville in search of a home. The first thing that attracted my attention was this river walk. It is so pretty. In the winter there is lights and decorations up and down the riverwalk and a big lit up eagle sign that shows the towns support for the military. They even have christmas music playing. This is also where they have the forth of july fireworks display and concerts.

I live in Clarksville, and I know that Cumberland isn't the prettiest or nicest river, but it is part of the landscape and I love it. It's beautiful at Christmas time, with all the lights up. I've seen the Cumberland work magic on people on Christmas Eve. Go there w/ your date and enjoy the night.

this place smells so bad its a shame they keep wasting money here"like the bridge to nowhere" thanks alot, and the stank from probably flushing all the toilets in clarksville at once as soon as the sun goes down. the river is so nasty so why build a "monument park" around it? id love to see the mayor take a dip in the river!! please save our money and use it for something more beautiful that can be rented for weddings and outdoor gatherings without the stank. thanks

This ia a great place to walk and think with your thoughts or with someone special. The park swings are great, BBQ grills with tables already in place, boating, jogging, concerts in the park, it's just all around great times. The only thing I would change is making it mandatory to clean up after your pets. I don't remember seeing any signs out ther for that.

This is a great place to walk for exercise and enjoy the beautiful view of the river. At least three fast food restaurants: Wendy's, a chicken place, and Kelly's are nearby so you can get food to go and take to the park area for a picnic. Children the playground. We hope to return and stay at the Riverview Inn near the riverwalk again.

It is a very fun place to go and walk around. The only thing is is that it smells really bad there. Dont go in the elevator cause homeless people sleep in there.
