I've been going to the Arby's Classic since my father took me in the early 1990s and i have never been disappointed. Despite being in a small southern town in the mountains of Tennessee (which provide some excellent views/sunsets) the tournament field has always been strong. Compared to other tournamnets i've been to the Arbys is defianlty one of the top 5 if not the top one in the county. it has been the host of numerous European and other foreign teams, as well as many high caliber college and pro players. In short don't take my word for it check it out yourself...its worth it if you like good high school basketball and friendly southern hospatality.
Ive seen no less than 20 players out of this tournament end up inthe NBA inclusing Ray Allen (supersonics), Udonis Haslem (miami Heat), ROn Mercer (Bulls), George Lynch (Charlotte), Bryant Stith, (lakers), ect.....Some years its beter than others, but it is simply the most dazzeling tournament in the south east if not the entire country. Very often teams from Canada, Germany, Italy, Bahamas, and all over the worlld show up. It is a true international event and watching 7 foot high school kids bang around is really awsome! Absolutley the best entertainment for the money. A pass for the entire tournament is $50. Thats about $2 per game. Still WAY underpriced for the ENSANE value. I love this tournament...can you tell? Watch high school kids so stuff in the dunk contest that pros havent even thought of yet!
Great place to take the kids and family for some fun and excitement.
Great gym...fans were nice! Parking was decent. Hotel was clean, staff was pleasant. Not much to do when there are no bball games... There is a super Walmart (great place to just walk around and look or shop)!
Warm up music was great -- Motown Oldies! Brought back memories!
Need better halftime entertainment.
