Fonduely Yours, Mt Pleasant

I went with another couple a few weeks ago and I had never had fondue so I thought it would be fun. There was a coupon in the city paper $40 for a couple to have cheese fondue, salad, mixed main course, and chocolate dissert, and a bottle of wine. The oil did take a while to heat up and the server had a time getting the burner to work. Once he did it was good. I don't think that the oil was hot enough for the main course because it was taking a while for the meats to cook. I mostly stuck with the veggies and let my husband have the meat but the veggies cooked up just fine. I have had better food but it was fun. We were there for three hours and it was nice. I would recommend going with another couple.

I wasn't impressed by this at all!! Our cheese course didn't cook up right, and our server had to take it "to the back" to heat it up. Then when our chicken broth came out of the main course, it wouldn't get hot enough. After several trips of going to find our server, and having the manager come out, they finally got our pot to working. Needless to say we had already been there an hour and a half. Customer service was lacking. There was mold on the ceiling above the table we were sitting at. There were bread crumbs on the "clean" plates that were brought out to us. Over all, this place is a run down shack that I'm shocked the health department hasn't shut down. Major thumbs down on this hole.

This was an all-in-all waste of a dinner experience. A large group of my friends and I went, so that each half our table had their own fondue pots. One side (the one I wasn't on) had a pot that was sizzling and working just great. My side's fondue pot was barely cooking, even after leaving food in for twice as long as we were told. We brought it to the attention of servers 3 times, and were brushed off each time. When we sent our food over to our friend's side, the food actually cooked well, it was a world of difference. Finally, we called over the manager, who instead of being apologetic, was flat-out rude and continued to deny there was a problem. My digestive system just hasn't been the same today... an experience I'm not FOND of.

My husband and I wanted to eat there this past week. Had trouble finding it. We finally did and it looked closed but since it was around 5:15 and they didn't open till 5:30 we weren't sure. Would like to know if they are still open. it was kind of dark and there was a torn screen.

just had a real good time and very relaxed. we spent three and a half hours there.

We live in Knoxville Tennessee and visit the Charleston area frequently. We never fail to eat at Fonduely Yours. The atmosphere is indeed rather dimly lit, but we think it adds to the romance of the place. The food is great and the staff has always been personable. We have two kids (ages 12 and 2) and they are always made to feel welcome and love the food. By all means, do not bring a hot dog for your kid (like mentioned in another post). Expose your children to new dining experiences!!

Appalling service!!! After a 1 hour and 15 minute wait and giving our table away twice, the host argues with me and places the blame on me for not getting seated sooner because it is supposedly my responsibility to keep track of who came in before me. I was utterly shocked by the lack of service at Fonduely Yours. You couldn't pay me to step foot inside of that horrible restaurant again. Don't know how the food is, but if you like to wait around all night and like to get treated like garbage, Fonduely Yours is for you!

By far the worst treatment of customers I have ever experienced in my life. My girlfriend and I went the weekend before Valentine's Day because we didn't want to fight the crowds. After waiting over an hour to be seated, I asked the host what the problem was and he said he had given my seat to someone else. The host, Joel, after never apologizing, asked a couple close to us, who had been waiting around 30 minutes, if they would like to be seated, knowing that we had been waiting for an hour. That's when we left. I told Joel that this was the worst service I had ever received and he told us that it wasn't his fault and then had the audacity to place the blame on us. After seeing this horrible display of hospitality, another couple followed us out the door. I will never, ever, ever consider returning to Fonduely Yours.

I would agree with an earlier comment that this place is excessively dark - and somewhat "smelly" - cig. smoaking is permitted in the bar - which you nearly have to walk through to get to your tables... and there's a persistent odor of old cooking... The food itself was ok and the servers were nice and all, but they both were slow in coming - we had a party of 12 and we constantly had to flag them down to get drinks, get food out to cranky youngsters (20 minutes) and to get the food to the table... excessive waits between courses brought down the flow of the night and extended it longer than we'd expected. As an asside for people with kids - they don't have anything _but_ fondue - so, bring a hotdog for kids that don't want to wait for oil and such to heat up to eatable temperatures... ....not planning to return.
